Honestly anthropic's behavior has been remarkably consistent with their stated belief that transformative ai is coming soon. They warn about misuse risks, push for safety legislation, and are even building safety nets etc for the job displacement. If you believed ai's upsides and downsides were both enormous and coming soon how else should they react?
