68k score in passmark for less than 300 dollars.
Why is this so cheap?
>>

>Why is this so cheap?
Because the gayming community is fucking retarded and just as biased and delusional as they claimed everyone was 10 years ago. If anything it's worse nowadays because you are literally supposed to ignore your eyes and any value propositions and buy purely based on consensus.
>>
you pay for it with your electric bill

Because no AVX512

250w at maximum aint that bad considering the performance

because it's a dead platform and it's getting deprecated soon and you need 8000Mt/s ram to actually get good performance, it's also slower than 14700k
>>
>>110105553
Because this kind of performance is cheap to produce, people are just used to AMgreeD having a monopoly lately.

Competition is always good for keeping the market in check.
>>
A processor is no longer important. VRAM and RAM as well as NPU/Tensor cores are.
>>
>>110105553
I have it
Not for games at all, good for batch CPU rendering
Threadrippers are still better but making a full system is cheap with shintel

no one cares about incel

it needs DDR5 memory.
>>

as opposed to what?

because nova lake is coming out in 2 months

some ddr4-era processors have shot up in value recently. a 5800x3d costs more than a 7800x3d, for example. the former can be paired with cheaper ram, making it more attractive to people who have never held $1,000 for longer than a week.
>>
>>110105651
Shitel is still doing this? Why did they even make this extension? I swear to God they're so fucking stupid.
>>
>>110106751
5800x3d was selling for $400-450 used before ayymd rereleased them
>>
>>110105553
You would spend more on cooling because it idle at 90 c temperature
>>
>>110106918
that just means it's thinking
>>
>>110106918
all the other cpus with that score consume a lot of power too
>>
>>110105553
I have a 265k and I got up to 63k in passmark after some tuning
>>
>>110107475
cant really beat price/performance ratio on this
>>
>>110107475
How'd you do that?
>>
>>110105553
dead platform, subpar performance compared to amd, expensive ddr5 memory, meme hybrid architecture that forces you to jump through hoops, missing instruction sets that will be relevant in the near future
this is a less humiliating piledriver moment for intel, good value if you can find a cheap and good mobo, plus ram which wasn't an issue in the piledriver era (though piledriver had far worse performance)
if memory prices weren't fucked this would be great

Not many consumers need its multithreaded performance, Ryzen X3D is the better gaming chip.
These Arrow Lake CPUs take significant manual tuning to make up for the latency penalty caused by the disaggregated tile architecture.
There's also a some annoying quirks like the D2D frequency OC being severely voltage limited if you want to use Windows 11 sleep feature.

Intel chips are worthless, not strong like Snapdragon, not build for devices like Qwicam, not build for AI like Apple or Nvidia and not great for Linux gaming like AMD. It’s over for Intel.
>>
>>110107829
Intel Arc B390 is faster than 890M
>>
>>110105553
cons:
higher motherboard cost offsets lower processor cost
low end performance processor brand either way
more israeli backdoors

pros:
quicksync is better

limiting the powerlimit to 200W or even 150W hamstrings it by maybe like 5/10%. 250w isn't bad either.

Biggest issue with the 270k is higher latency due to d2d speeds and actually needing high frequency ram, and not just tight timings. That said it's one of the only consumer chips with not total dogshit ram bandwidth. Also that a bog standard high performance x86 chip is basically completely ignored these days in favor of inference chips.

I refuse to buy Intel for the simple fact that they force you to switch sockets and motherboards like every 1-2 generations. AMD has proven you can support multiple generations on a single socket.

They're also power hungry and filled with estrogen cores.
>>
>>110108307
>nuuu i need my 20 generation socket because i upgrade every 6 months!!!!!
Consoomer faggot.
>>
>>110105553
short answer? gamers. AMD won the race, but for the very wrong reasons. a bunch of retards created a new market around amd and their power hungry CPUs. nobody gives a shit about saving $$$ on electricity, YET. when it stats happening, they'll be wishing they got a more power efficient CPU such as Intel. video games have plateau'd and stagnated and there's less demand for higher Single Core performance from these retarded unoptimized games and both Intel and AMD can do these games with little to no effort with a decent GPU. but, one draws way more power than the other and soon faggots are gonna be scrambling for Intel. the writing is on the wall.

>700w tdp to 105w tdp

you'll see what these sick pedophiles have in store of us, anon. mark my words., you jest, but it's coming. your electricity bill is going to be unusually high and they are going to coerce you into getting a Smart Reader and sign up for an app where your electricity will be remotely managed and controlled. it's already happening. you will get different treatment if you play along. 50% off on your monthly electricity bill.

when they tell you that video games are going to be given to you remotely and all the GPU processing will be done remotely; that you don't need a GPU, just download the game and pay for GPU processing from the data center. they are all on cahoots and in league with each other

The Gayming community is based. They prioritize high single threaded performance and low latency over all else, especially bloat like multicore processing and e-cores
>>
>>110108517
but poozen has lower single core performance than intel
>>
>>110108610
intel's cores stalls too much because of their slow and small caches and horrid dram latency
>>
>>110105578
It is because demand is low for desktop CPUs and motherboards. The DRAM and flash crunch has killed demand for new system builds. The majority of DIY types are priced out of their market.
I find /v/tards to be absolutely amusing as CPU has ceased to be a major bottleneck for majority of gayming needs for over a decade now. Only FOMO, min-max types are fretting over the tiny returns as of late.
>>
>>110106751
>cheaper RAM
Fucking barely. I have a 5600x and 7900xt with 32 giggerboyds of RAM, and a 7900x3d with new motherboard and 32gb of DDR5 is 749. Meanwhile, a 5800x3d and 32gb of DDR4 is 600. FUCK WHAT SHOULD IT DO?
>>
>>110111472
New CPU, motherboard and ddr5 is a no brainer
