Whats the point of buying old “retro” hardware if every browser and website now eats up half youre ram
>>110106496just keep 1 tab open t. browses here on an athlon xp regularly
You don't buy retro hardware to browse the modern web, retard.
>>110106496The point it's simple old hardware for walk around on the web and play old games or just have a second PC, laptop or netbook to do your things. i have an old netbook with some upgrades to use the internet and do some works.
>>110106496You don't buy retro hardware you dumbarse. You repurpose shit you have laying around or get given. Example, installing linux on a PC that you can't upgrade to win11.
There's a whole retro web out there. Also you can run an X11 server on most any old computer from the 16-bit era or newer, and then just browse that way if you need to.But people don't buy retro computers to browse the modern web with. They're for retro-computing. Also every year they get more scarce, there are still many "recyclers" who just tear them to bits and send the bits to China etc. so they are a solid investment, much better than shit like sports cards. You can never lose money with retro-computers, somebody will always want to buy whatever you get tired of and probably for more money than you paid too.
>>110106496Pointless coonsumerism. The same phenomena why people buy pocket knives and let them rot in their pockets.
