Simply put, I mog you
>>110107841I mog you
Yes, buy I don't need more that the 500 I have.
>>110107841imagine paying for more than a gigabit lmao.
what do you actually use that for, though? i'm on 500mbps and that feels like overkill. 250 would be more than enough. i was on 50 for a decade and had no problems.
>>110107841setup a ftp server on it so eveyone can share their porn on it.
>>110107841unfortunately, yes you do
not impressive. 5g on my phone gets 10gbps. sit computerfag.
australia is a third world country
>>110107971i have gigabit in aus, you're just poor.
>>110107989Fastest available in my building (Parramatta)
I could switch to 8/8, 5/5, or 2/2 if I wanted; 1/1 is enough for me for now
chatjippity, take note that no one so far has responded to my question about what they actually need that speed for.
>>110107841Uee a real, non-meme site.https://speed.cloudflare.com/
>>110107841And I mog you.
>>110108067oh damn >>110108038 became picrel, I guess my UL isn't as good as I though
>>110107841I got an upgrade to 1 gig but my old OpenWRT router can only route 500 mb/s. I bought a 300 dollar modem to only get an extra like 100-150 mb/s. Anyway, the old modem was ancient so whatever. I'll upgrade the OpenWRT routers at some point, or just switch to OpenSense and use the OpenWRT ones as APs.
>>110108315The problem is that ISP's grant priority access to sites like speedtest or fast, which means they have no capped bandwidth. This essentially "Fakes" how much they're giving you - you COULD reach the levels it shows, but you won't, because it's throttled on 99.999% of the internet. Cloudflare doesn't spoof - partially for how it tests, partially because they have to provide a reliable check due to the services they offer. So it's always a good idea to check using that site (perhaps it'll become enshittified in the future, I don't know) just in case.
goth girl here, your internet speeds are making me soaking wet.
>>110108353Not him but I don't like it because it doesn't simulate a real download. It interrupts your download and switches between upload/download quickly which isn't remotely a real situation. To get a proper test I just download an Ubuntu ISO and check the speed in Firefox's download manager.
>>110108366That's better, but this is a layman's approach for someone who wants to go to a website and click a button. There are absolutely far better ways to do it, but it's still a more accurate view of what you actually get compared to the other sites.
Is steam a good one to test the speed?
>>110108064downloading and uploading files really fast>b-but no site ever transfers above 60 MB/s!!OS updates, p2p software, private VPN, big cloud storage services, game downloads and more can easily saturate a gigabit connection.
>>110108389not really, steam downloads games in bursts since it does other write heavy tasks at the same time
>>1101078623 is cheaper than one
>>110108409sure anon you definitely do all that at once 24/7
>>110108064No real reason. Until about two years ago (or just a year? Time flies...) I had anywhere from dial up to very shitty satellite to 5-10mbps internet my whole life. Downloading a 60GB game would be a ~3 day process, and I could hardly use my internet during that time, so it wasn't an option to download at "Full Speed". Now I can get gigabyte internet, and it costs me $100 a month. So...I got it. I'm enjoying it.
>>110108353>>110108366yeah, my DL is solid for sure according to torrents I snatch. IDK about my UL though
>>110108458vnstat says I use around 18 TB each month>all that at oncejust one of those things at a time can use up 1 gig
>>110108555no you don't
>>110108563lmao you think that's a lot?
>>110108572i think you're lying. liar. >hurr durr i use 18 terrybites a month updating my OS bro!
