Why did we stop using CRTs? Dreamcast running on a VGA CRT monitor still looks unbelievably good

They have cancer causing elements in them. Next dumb question
>>
>>110109071
Flat screens are easier to ship and move around and companies want to pay a cheap energy bill.
If you want to keep a CRT you need to learn how to do recaps and general electronics because no one is ever going to make one again unless the whole industry goes back to pre-globalization 1980.
>>
I think they should have kept making smaller monitors they were still practical enough
>>
>>110109071
CRTs were expensive to produce, LCD were much much muuuuuch cheaper to produce and they could sell them at the very same price or even more because it was seen as "new therefore better". The goal of any company is to make money, not to please us, so here we are.

Cigarettes still exist, so your answer is wrong.

Useless gooner tech
>>
>>110109075
Ah fuck! You mean don't grind up the CRT into a powder and snort it?? Why didn't someone say something before? Ah, well, time to go snort some LCD powder, that's safe, right OP?

Can't be any more cancerous than the modern game industry

Heavy, expensive, dangerous, eye strain.
