is anyone actually reading these academic papers on AI? are they any good or at least semi-relevant or they're just mindlessly churned out daily with no usecase or purpose?

What's the gist? I've used loop engineering and it's actually pretty effective. Give my local agent a fixed goal, a set of objective criteria to measure against, and than tell it to keep going until it successfully meets that goal. Why do they say it's over?
