Why don't we have region-based logins as a standard security feature by now?Why can't I go into my account settings and specify which countries, states, or even regions I want to allow logins from? If I only ever access my accounts from New Jersey, why should someone halfway around the world even be allowed to attempt to log in?If I travel, I could simply enable access to that region in my settings beforehand, or have it automatically enabled when my verified phone is physically in that area.Sure, VPNs could potentially circumvent this, but they'd first have to know which region I've authorized and then find a VPN endpoint within that region. If access were restricted down to the state level, that would narrow their options even further. It wouldn't be foolproof, but it seems like such a simple, practical additional layer of security that could eliminate a lot of unnecessary bullshit. And judging by my latest password reset notification, I'm getting pretty Thai-erd of this shit.
read as religion-based logins and that sounded interesting
