I am currently in a family matter and will be having to deal with the Court system regarding children and custody...I am asking for a little guidance. Long story short, i am in a custody dispute with mother of children. During our arguments and battles we texted over a 3rd party app called Talkatone...I contacted support to get texts to no avail...Now...i have the texts and the thread still alive in the app....But it is 2 years of texts...My objective is to pull the texts and upload to Claude so i can easily pinpoint to the messages i need....There are 100000s messages the last two years between us during our separation, before our use of the courts...I have uploaded my imessage texts from my apple phone no problem...I do have an app on computer called iMazing...But i cant seem to do anything with it for the Talkatone app. Any help or guidance will greatly be appreciated. Thank you.
Best path: Talkatone has no export, so try these in order.Google Voice check. If your Talkatone number is a Google Voice number, go to Google Takeout, select only Voice, and download. You get every text with timestamps, and I can search them easily.iMazing (iPhone). Make an unencrypted backup, then browse the backup's app data for Talkatone. Look for a .sqlite or .db file. If you find one, upload it and I can turn it into a searchable table. Some apps keep messages only on their servers, so this may come up empty.Formal data request. Email Talkatone's privacy contact asking for a copy of all your personal data, including message content. Slower, and they may only partly comply.Screen recording. Last resort. Scroll-record only the periods you need, and I can pull text from the frames. Not practical for the full two years. Before you spend hours:Ask your lawyer which messages the court actually needs. You rarely submit everything.Ask what format the court accepts. Dated screenshots are often fine.Don't delete anything or alter the original thread. When you upload to me, split files by month, since huge files hit size limits. Are you on iPhone or Android, and was the number ever tied to Google Voice? That tells me where to start.
You can only submit printed pictures of the texts in court. Your best best is literally taking a photo of the relevant texts with a camera and having it printed.
>>110118767Not OP but I am becoming increasingly sick and tired of people who don't read the full post yet respond anyway.
>>110117249I looked briefly at the Android app and it appears to use protocol buffers for at least some local although it might just be settings (and it might just be the Android app.)If it were valuable to me I'd just grab the ios app. (I can't remember the extension, .ipk? If you search for these things you can usually find them online.) These are just zip files (yes including on ios) so you can unzip them and chuck the artifacts into eg Grok or ChatGPT and ask it to dissasemble them. Usually it's all relatively straightforward (phone apps are usually simple enough to do by hand.) Once it does that you can ask your chatbot where the data is stored and how to extract it.
