I think theres two things going on here. One, Google is trying to discourage use of any browsers that are pro privacy especially when it comes to tracking cookies. If you clear cookies on browser exit, you are the enemy. Two, they don't want people using mobile browsers that can block ads. It has 0 to do with unusual traffic, it's actually probably very similar to here. They have a threat score and not having that initial cookie guarantees a captcha. Its getting wild. Like how if you are logged into your Amazon account and go to imdb, they make an account for you without your permission. Gone are the days of the early sovl Internet
