Ironically, LLMs damaged open source far more severely than they did with closed source proprietary software.I have a fork with several commits I would like to commit to origin but can't because it's full of thousands of unchecked AI slop requests, meaning I'm just better off not bothering and keeping them to myself.Everyone is just going to keep their own forks of shit with all the custom tailored AI commits their project individually needs and not bother with ever opening GitHub or sharing any of their code ever again.
We are entering the era of "just vibecode what you need and don't share it" because other people can just vibecode what they need so you are better off not bothering.Closed source might suffer from reverse engineering but open source is completely dead with LLMs.
>>110119736i ran into this problem trying to contribute bugfixes to several programs over the past few months
>>110119760Its not dead but contribution has to be severely limited
>>110119736>Sarrs it was the paki fault>sarr it was LLM faultWhy are they like this?
Already predicted in the start of this year.https://arxiv.org/abs/2601.15494v1
>>110119736something tells me this is entirely made up and also propaganda
open sores being killed dead is unironically one of the few silver linings of SI. basedd closed source chadds cloud streaming an iframe of a web app with right click disabled to end users unironically won in the end.
It's funny because I've gotten completely vibed PRs merged (HITL style, though), so I guess it's project dependant.
>>110119736Latest softmod for xbox 360 is closed source because the dev doesn't want it to be sloppified by thousands of LLMs. This will probably be the case for many other jailbreak devs in the future
