Tried the sideways monitor to the side setup, didn't like it. Still wanted a second monitor for chatting with friends and miscellaneous windows. Went to good will and found an old 5:4 monitor for $5, plugged in a $3 adapter. Liked it so much I went back and got one of the other ones they had. Now, I've got a boxy screen that shows a little bit more of discord when I'm chatting with friends and I can watch All in the Family in it's original aspect ratio all at the same time.
