Does anyone remember the weird windows 8 malware from 2013-2016 that displayed a semi-transparent image of the A.I. Artificial Intelligence movie logo all over the screen with some text that said something like "loading" or "installing"? While this image was displayed, you couldn't really do anything with your pc. All I could find of it was a microsoft q&a thread and no one on this thread is outright calling it malware, some seem to believe it came with a windows update, but it seemed so out of place to be from that. I remember after getting the malware, my pc slowed down. I believe it was malware and that it was running something in the background. I still wonder what that even was, or what the purpose of it was.

Malware doesn't advertise itself so you won't find an explicit download link. Unless you somehow find the exact download you got it from, you most likely won't see that malware again. Why do you even care?

are you saying it was an intimation by someone who worked at microsoft of where tech was headed and that telemetry was being added specifically for that purpose
>>
are you sure this wasn't just a dream you had
