What went wrong for Amazon?
They're investing in infrastructure. As does literally everyone else at the moment.
>>110123478"Investing in infrastructure" meaning buying up GPUs and then leaving them in the boxes unused as you don't have any data centres to deploy them into
>>110123468it was me I returned 9000 RTX 5090s but replaced with rocks
>>110123468Being jewed and jeeted
>>110123468They'll be saved by the 3€ per article tax they asked EU to create to keep us europoor from buying from aliexpress/temu. Fuck you Amazon.
>>110123500i just want a 5090 so i can gen some bouncing boobies....faster than I already am...COME ON
They fell for the AI scam, and like every other company (including nvidia), they're being punished.
>>110123468People aren't buying books anymore.
That rufus nigga is a lying pos btw
Amazon pays big for it’s cloud infrastructure and that requires hardware and lots of it.did you check the hardware prices recently?
>>110123468It will only get worse. They lost data centers in the middle east that ran on cheap energy, and their secret data centers in Russia that also ran on cheap energy.
>>110125482I blame the brits for releasing that curse upon the world.
>>110123468They kicked me off my mom's prime subscription and I haven't bought anything from them in months. Absolutely retarded own goal there
>>110125543I often look for products I want to have on there and buy them elsewhere. Honestly a pretty good way to find ISBNs
perhaps delivery van cannot into walled garden
>>110123468Besides the obviously disastrous infection of jeet nepotism in their workforce and management structure (which has plagued the tech sector far and wide), there are two monumentally stupid reasons amazon specifically have failed>reason 1They neglected their bread and butter. 10 years ago Amazon was the one-stop shop for anything and everything. If you wanted something, you found it on amazon, easy. However they focused too hard on AWS and ad services because they saw them as more profitable, which was fine in principle so long as they didn't ignore the foundation of their brand strength. They had an insane degree of western online market dominance, and they pissed it away. Now it's a shithole to shop on because searching for any item returns a thousand shitty chinese knockoffs mixed in with a few normal ones with no easy way to filter. They fucked up.>reason 2They missed the single biggest open goal in tech history. 10 years ago, millions of people embraced having alexa smart speakers in their homes. This was AI before AI, a voice assistant that understood questions and commands, and most importantly normalised it in people's homes with unsurpassed brand awareness. So what did they do when the real AI gold rush started? Did they invest like other tech companies with their mammoth wealth? Did they partner with a market leader like anthropic to include their services in Alexa? Nope. They did FUCK ALL and let Alexa fade into market irrelevance. They could have had (or at least partnered to have) western market dominance in AI by having a voice assistant in every home WHICH THEY WERE ALREADY ON TRACK TO DO, but instead decided nah and sat on their thumbs for 10 years. Not only that, but Alexa objectively got WORSE in that time. Unacceptable painful stupidity that makes me mad.
Put all of their eggs in the AI basket.
>>110123468They put up their entire company as a collateral to buy as much land, electricity, water, and GPUs as possible.
>>110124203Stop spamming this savage vatnik whore with AIDS.
>>110129127>>110129129Literally the opposite. Thanks for exposing yourself as frauds, now I know which side is full of shit. 100% pro-AI from here on out, thanks!
>>110129168Vibedogs on suicide watch.
>>110123500By the time they can use them, they're already going to be outdated.
>>110123468nothing.they are the tools of the financial system and they have been chosen to dominate. they could operate at a loss for 50 years and nobody important would blink, whatever they are doing right now which is unprofitable is irrelevant, the people who will carry them forever have told them to do it.
>>110123565Kek based
>>110124213>1.9T expenses>0.9T revenueThat's way better than I expected.AI companies are going to be fine.
>>110129168>Literally the oppositeThey haven't put any money into AI? Crazy.
>>110129288The revenue is skewed by nvidia and other companies selling the shovels.
>>110123573cope, unemployed scum.
>>110124213They'll break even once they start getting government contracts.
>>110124028why 5090 and not 3090? i can generate boobies nicely on my 3090isn't it the same thing? only VRAM capacity matters
what will amazon sell when 30% of the workforce has been laid off?
Good bye Middle East.
>>110123468>import 45 IQ hindpoo cockroaches and let them overrun your civilization>become Indiasimple as
I can't even read reviews anymore without logging in.Most extremely good deals underpricing retail stores stopped being cheaper once they put most retail stores that have to pay local expensive rent out of business. They ship from some dirt cheap desert warehouse and cannot even be significantly cheaper than just supporting a local store where I can touch and feel and judge the build quality of a product before I buy it.They bought into the ai bubble heavily. But the biggest result of ai has been eliminating the incomes of their biggest consumers.
>>110123468Didn't Amazon replaced thousands of warehouse jobs with AI already? They should make more profit
>>110129702>>and installing localized missile interceptorsHaha the cyberpunk reality where the corporate giants have advanced weapon systems to protect their ai which is certainly involved militarily too.
>>110130258Their main business is serving ordinary people at a low profit margin. Do it any other way and there would be an uprising.
>>110130258free cash flow isn't related to profits. amazon is highly profitable.
>>110130338amazon's gross margin is like double that of costco. where's the uprising?
>>110129115You're right but nobody will read your post cos its too long for zoomer attention spans
>>110130519Amazon gets most of its cash from AWSThe retail is just a front for temu these days
>>110129115This
>>110129532>they'll be fine once the government pays the bills (by printing more fiat)uh oh
>>110131670wrong, retail is ~5x the size of aws.
What kind of mentality is required to hold on to a tech company or any kind of company for that matter?I'm always thinking of exit strategies. Once I have enough money, I cash out and spend the rest of my time in the Bahamas. It'll never happen for me. But a lot of these big guys have generational wealth. What motivates them to keep on keeping on?
