adding a centralized point of failure is not solving a problem
>>
Just memorize your passwords

just use two password managers retard

>NOOOOO DON'T ENCRYPT YOUR PASSWORDS AHHHH
Here I got a solution you literally can not disagree with:
1. Generate password with password manager
2. Add 20 chars onto it
3. Write the 20 chars down so even if your vault got hacked you'd still have a somewhat complex password

I did this for a while, then I forgot what I meant

not trusting something like bitwarden is as retarded as it can possibly be. encryption is too hard for /g/lets it seems.
>>
>Deus Ex taught me that if I even need to hack a machine, I break into the facility, allock pick a drawer, and look for yellow sticky notes with a password
>It now turns out this is incredibly difficult and would have been more secure than nearly any other tactic used today
I fell cheated.

NEVER trust a password manager.

I'd sooner trust a locally encrypted file on my computer hidden in some game folder than to use a cloud solution.

i assume the biggest problem isn't having a diverse ecosystem of passwords, rather changing them frequently. Leaks from old services you don't use but still use the same password get released, then you get targeted.

Writing down where? On your computer? On paper? If you have to maintain hundreds of password in one place, you'd need to come up with some sort of management system to securely and efficiently maintain, enter and search for them. If only solutions for this problem existed... Too bad.
>>
>>110198053
I think the most security method I came up with is a mnemonic pattern, like take the first two and last two letters of the service name, rearrange them in a specific way, then use the military alphabet o algo to form it into a passphrase. Something like that, but honestly I have wayy too many accounts so I just use a password manager for everything but the most important services.
Also burner e-mail, lots of them. Get a cheap domain and you can get a catchall mailbox with a provider like mangomail or unlimited aliases with posteo.

You're talking to neets with accounts for reddit, bad dragon, xitter and temu. They opinions don't matter. I'm here to laugh at their autistic rants about jews, cloud and notepads. It's always the same shit.
>>
I've been using the same composition book from high school to store my passwords all these years
>>
>>110198053
I put my passwords in random text files assorted throughout my file system which is a gigantic fucking mess with zero context as to which password belongs to which service, therefore not even AI can figure out how my shit works because I don't know it and there is no context
>>
>>110198399
What kinda site uses 24? I've seen 20 but that was due to poorly chosen algorithm

My bank's password was 6 alphanumerics, case insensitive until a couple of years ago
>>
>>110198498
I don't know, I made up the number. I remember making an account on a website that allowed max 26 like a month ago.
>>110198517
There is no way this is true.
>>
>>110198517
>>110198531
Some sites still use inferior algorithms and therefore only allow passwords with a length of 8-20 chars. Also banks in first world countries got 2FA anyway.
>>
You can sync some password managers with google drive or other clouds and its encrypted. You can also use it locally, so I dont see a problem.

It's true. Changed in August 2024 according to another post

Banks are the slowest moving institutions on Earth. Nothing will change this except for an act of vibe god.

I would have taken my money somewhere else as soon as possible.
