Is this still the best Webm conversion tool?
>>
>>110208191
Isn't that Windows only? I just use this:
>>

It has way more functions. Like cropping, changing speed, adding overlays and such.
It's a simple mini editor.

why would a tranny take over if the original name was webm for faggots?
>>

I just use a script I wrote when the feature was first introduced and added features to each time a new thing was supported. It's not great and was never as good as webm for faggots but it works for me.

Yeah, h264_nvenc, but good luck getting any quality in 4MB. Not like the speed advantage really matters when the video you're encoding is maybe 20s. Come to think of it, even 2 pass libvpx-vp9 is not that bad because again, the video is only like 30s or so. Still, I'm that lazy.

>The “ Unix tools philosophy” emerged during the creation of the UNIX operating system, after the breakthrough invention of the pipe '|'
>The pipe allowed the output of one program to be sent to the input of another. The tools philosophy was to have small programs to accomplish a particular task instead of trying to develop large monolithic programs to do a large number of tasks. ffmpeg was originally kicked off by Bellard who very famously hates and does not abide by POSIX or GNU option conventions. The order of the options is semantic, and that comes into play here by -ss essentially fast seeking to the start point if it's before -i, or actually decoding the file from the start if the other way around. You used to be able to get around this for very long files of interest using -i -ss -i but in 6.0 they intentionally broke that and you can still use -i twice for the same file but it will re load it each time.

i prefer this python script from /vgy/ because it has yt-dlp integrated (last code snippit)
https://github.com/chameleon-ai/webm-for-4chan

 python webm_for_4chan.py input.mp4

perfectly sized webm for /wsg/ with sound
if you use --board gif ....4mb with sound

 python webm_for_4chan.py input.mp4 --board other

4mb and removes sound

 python webm_for_4chan.py input.mp4 --board other --size 2

2mb sized webm for those boards

it supports downloading straight from youtube or other sites with yt-dlp with time stamps too
python webm_for_4chan.py https://www.youtube.com/watch\?v\=OWDcn7hl16A --start 00:35 --end 00:38 --size 2 --board other -o drink.webm

Lately I've been having issues with webms using WebMConverter(aka Lazy, aka Baka, aka Retard) when it comes to older anime and its subtitles. The timings always go way off but if I try with newer anime, I have no problems. My guess is whatever it is groups were doing back in the 2000's is causing the subtitles to mess up. Is there a way to adjust the subtitle timings? Nothing wrong with the shows themselves, its just when making webms with older anime I have this problem.

There was a good thread on /gif a while ago about webm conversion and staying under 4MB etc:

>FFMPEG MP4 to Webm 2 Pass

>ffmpeg -i infilename.mp4 -c:v libvpx-vp9 -crf 26 -pass 2 -b:v 1500k -vf scale=640:-1 outFilename.webm

>-crf 23 to 29 is a sweet spot

>File sizing:
>4MB = 4* 1024 * 8 bits = 32,768 kb
>divide by number of seconds to get max rate(kb/s) to stay under 4MB
>that's your ceiling bitrate in bits/second
>divide by 1000 for Mbps

If you have any permission issues with the 2 pass just remove it from the FFMPEG string or try sudo first
