For those of you who work in tech, or are deeply interested in technology, how many of you genuinely support the advancement of AI despite the potential risks and negative implications often associated with it? Personally, I don't care what AI does to humanity.
>>110211050>I have no friends or familyWhy haven't you killed yourself yet?
>>110211062Cant risk waking up here again
I don't trust the monopoly forces behind AI.
>>110211108This is a great point. Some part of me thinks AI's true danger is the tool itself being influenced by people in power, not the AI itself.
>>110211140So exactly like every single bit of technology ever.
>>110211050I realized the greatest damage one can inflict upon the monopoly forces behind ai is to give them exactly what they want. Ill be dead or deep in the wilderness, forgotten about, theyll wreck themselves on manmade horrors beyond comprehension until the heat death of the universe
>>110211146You're correct. He actually gets it.
>>110211050i want it to take over my job so i can start growing nice flowers in the yard.
>>110211169Universal basic income will happen because of AI.
>>110211174Yeah, but only after a civil war from everyone losing their homes and apartments though.
>Uh, just, just, if I may; I'll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you're using here: It didn't require any discipline to attain it. You know, you read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility... for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could. And before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunch box, and now, [banging table] you're selling it, you're gonna sell it.I believe there is great danger anytime anyone acquires great power through means that bypass the discipline and work necessary to learn of the risks and danger that comes with the responsibility of that power. I believe all learning comes at a cost or price, and if they haven't paid the cost/price to learn of these risks and dangers, then they're only setting themselves up to learn it the hard way.Now AI seems to be the most powerful tool mankind has created thus far, and it's in the hands of nepo babies who are selling it to the dumbest human beings among us all.Sure.... what could possibly go wrong.
>>110211050>despite the potential risksThis is exactly why I support China making advancements in AI. It's far too dangerous to let a couple jews end up controlling it.
>>110212228Chang, you're not fooling anybody. Saw you post in that Phantom Blade Zero thread on /v/ not long ago.
>>110212230I don't need to post on /v/ because American companies are all committing suicide with their tranny propaganda. Have fun being owned by kike 1 and kike 2 in your dystopian goy containment zone.
>>110211050Generative AI is a technology that allows people to amplify their affect on the world while at the same time allowing those same users to deny responsibility for their deeds. It is no accident or coincidence that it enables vast acts of theft, deception, scams and other sorts of evils. It being popular on /g/ is natural because this board is fulk of short sighted misanthropes, but I can honestly get along without it. I haven't seen much come from its use other than enabling vices and soundrels.
>>110211174UBI is retarded.>Everyone now gets what the government considers "a livable wage.">This money can only be conjured out of thin air by printing it.>Super intelligence (which is owned by a company) is meant to guide humanity without any bias or scrutiny wholeheartedly.>The free market decides what the cost of goods and services should be.>Nothings stopping the market from continuing to inflate.MONTH 1, the market collapses as prices inflate to match the massive amount of UBI everyone receives. MONTH 2 the government either raids these tech companies and puppet them or the companies do the same to the government. MONTH 3 citizens riot against the unlivable state of the country.Good thing superintelligence isn't something we have to worry about. AI is a tool, it isn't alive and cannot think at the same level as a human. The core tech has been around since the 1960's, it isn't a new system. Is it a powerful tool? It can be. Has it changed the modern ecosystem with computers? Absolutely. Is it going to rise up like you see in film? That's exactly what the marketing team wants you to think.
>>110212285>>Everyone now gets what the government considers "a livable wage.">>This money can only be conjured out of thin air by printing it.>>The free market decides what the cost of goods and services should be.>>Nothings stopping the market from continuing to inflate.this literally already happens
>>110212312That's literally the system behind minimum wage.>People want a higher wage>Companies won't give them more>The government prints more money and forces companies to increase their wages>Companies increase their prices to pay for their workersWhich is why its completely stupid. We can already see this to a far lesser extent with stimulus checks. You'd just kickstart hyperinflation,
>>110212285>>110212312>>110212358This used to happen at a sustainable rate (slight price increases every year) so we'd all be frogs boiling slowly in the pot. Now that multiple things are actually happening (Ukraine war, Hormuz strait shenanigans, AI companies spraying their liquid feces everywhere, US government literally shitting their pants and taking us all for the ride), the fire has been turned up several notches
>>110212358We had that shit in Chile, people were allowed to get some money from their retirement funds (that aren't supposed to be touched until, you know, you retire) during the meme flu and it seems we'll never recover from that blow
>>110212258Hey Chang how's the GPU market over in China?
>>110212385kek>put the money in the bag, we'll take care of you later>hey look at all this fucking money, we can just take from that and fuck the futuregovernments were a mistake
>>110212285>AI is a tool, it isn't alive and cannot think at the same level as a humanI think what people miss is that it doesn't have to. The fantasy of evil AI rising up against humanity is so powerful that it covers up the far more mundane, but more dangerous misdeeds of companies that would use AI as a way to redirect blame. AI doesn't have to be smart enough to make decisions, it just needs to seem that way so that Sheckleburg doesn't take the heat when his company dumps lead in to drinking water.
>>110212400>I think what people miss is that it doesn't have to. The fantasy of evil AI rising up against humanity is so powerful that it covers up the far more mundane, but more dangerous misdeeds of companies that would use AI as a way to redirect blame.Yes.
>>110212400That is already happening, and legislation making companies be responsible for what AI does will never ever happen because 99% of politicians are bought and paid for with the infinite monopoly money AI companies have
>>110211050I'm just here to post more frying pan technology.
>>110212400>Superintelligence is just a legal loophole to get people out of crime. That's the point. Their dressing up old tech as a bogyman in order to get (you)'s. Companies are already doing far worse and you just don't care because of the Ai smokescreen. You can just mint CP, commit fraud and (for now) get out of jail free if AI did it. Since companies cant be charged, and of course you as the individual cant be changed AI becomes the perfect legal scapegoat.
