I'm curious about what people think makes a good anime training dataset. Personally, I don't think it's danbooru. I've been focusing on "canon" images, so I've got an anime-to-caption pipeline set up which needs very little human intervention. The main thing it needs is human help with reviewing ccip image grounding (because the grounder sometimes makes mistakes), and also writing character distinction descriptions for the captioner, ie. "always wears red eyeglasses".
I can't think of a way to make distributed anime model training work, but I do have a way to distribute anime dataset creation. I have to do some checking around today to see if there's a vision model that can be crammed into a 16GB VRAM GPU, which seems to be the limit of affordability for a lot of people these days.

From the picrel it looks like typical "busted by danbooru" lorashit. Danbooru is a shit dataset, I've wasted my own time and money with it. krea2 is able to stand up to it mostly, but moss is much smaller and ends up smeared and stupified by it.
Nothing personal, Anon, it's just Danbooru is not very good. I'm slowly amassing a 'canon' anime dataset. I can do 2-3 shows per week, but I'm looking to automate it fully.

A good way to "fix" danbooru might be to i2i it with something and mix it back in as synthetic data. Can NAI do i2i? My "attempt" with danbooru was to make a dataset that was just 40K of the best-rated explicit/questionable and it really didn't do what I'd hoped. I think I see it now. The amount of insecurity is too high. It's just not normal to be presented with a small dataset and deflect with "okay but NAI probably scraped more than that". They seem to be particularly scared of MOSS, that even a small LoRA warrants damage control. They must feel that they will be left without a reason to exist soon.
