Three years ago, they were practically giving RAM away for free. Why didn't you buy some?
>>110223937>4800 Mhz
>>110223937https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aV_25Rrfn0>These are the days my friends
>>110223937>4800mhzare you fucking retarded
>>110223957well, he's not getting that, I can tell you that much.
>>110223937>0 Mhz
Thinking about selling these rdimms I bought 3 years ago and retiring
>>110223937I bought a 16 gb stick for my laptop last summer for 50 bucks and a WD black 1 tb ssd for another 70Greatest deal of my life, I am still proud.
>>110223937I did. I bought 2x 64GB SO-DIMM 5600MHz for like $360 total.
do you think Sammy sometimes posts shit like OP on random places on the internet just to satisfy some sick goyim hate fetish?
>>110223976>>110223957awwww, does it hurt that bad knowing you can't even afford a 16GB stick of DDR5 RAM today. Have fun with your DDR3 kit.
>>110224038no I have a 6000 Mhz DDR5 stick.
WE DIDN'T LISTEN
>>110223937you only need 16, anything higher is a meme
>>110223937Lol i got you beat nigga
>>110224118Bro, just...stop. Your comment is giving me intense second-hand embarrassment.
>>110223937>SO-DIMM>>110224020>SO-DIMM>>110224131>SO-DIMMthe fuck Y'ALL doing on a LAPTOP of all things that needs 64GB of RAM that isn't accessible by the GPU?
>>110223937I have that exact ram, 2x32gb.I also bought backups, should have bought more. I also bought 2x2tb gen4 ssd's and 2x16tb rust hard drives. Also bought 2 x rtx 4090's.Always buy double when you can, buy trips even.
>laptoplol, LMAO!
>>110223937I was already at 32 GB RAM so I bought HDD instead.
I have 2x8GB DDR5 sodimm, sell now or keep for later sell? I basically have it from when I upgraded to 2x16GB one year ago. so did these shitsticks of 8GB also went up in price?
>>110224155
>>110224210for a power user 32gb isn't cutting it, you need at least 64gb, have some VMs open, compile some shit, 64gb is barely cutting it for that, 128gb ideal just to cover all bases and have max flexibility.
weren't we supposed to move towards unified memory instead having ram bolted on to the gpu? is there a standard for it yet?
In retrospect this wasnt such a bad purchase.Nah who am I kidding, it was.
>>110223937I built my current PC with DDR4 in 2022 when AM5 wasn't out yet. This would have been the year I replaced it with a new build if things hadn't gone crazy.
>>110224155/g/ really is breeding a whole new level of retard these days.
>>110224386Not all of us need to pretend being socially adjusted by using a laptop as a main PC.
>>110224038shut up poor
>>110224418All the money in the world won't change the fact you're still insulting people on the internet meanwhile the poor man is actually happy in life.
>>110224407You really should stop posting. You are a stupid sack of shit. i have an MS-A2 with a RyZen 9 9950Hz
>>110224155I use 32 GB on my laptop and I run everything in VMs. When I was in graduate school I had a Windows VM specifically for school that had Office, everything signed into my school account, required applications, etc. I also had a personal VM for web browsing, youtube, etc. You could also have a secure VM for finance, taxes, etc. It's really nice to have different environments and the ability to use snapshots.
>>110224442>RyZen 9 9950Hzthe absolute state
>>110223937I have some sitting in a box that I bought before the panic started. idk what to do with it. I'm not building a computer yet because all other prices are equally as retarded
>>110224461My shit got autocorrected. Its a Ryzen 9, 9950HX.It’s not a laptop and it’s absolutely the peak. Mac Mini niggers seethe at my performance and efficiency
>>110224442>mini PCSo still pretending. At least it's something cool
like, maybe a handful of people worldwide could have accurately predicted the current RAMpocalypse three years ago, so fuck you OP for being lame and fake. the chips act was supposed to be for incentivizing new semiconductor fabs, not be a faucet for machine learning software companies.
>>110223937got this newegg combo deal for $1700 back in feb 2026
>>110224607>AM4>DDR5
man I'm glad I treated myself to an upgrade on a comfy mini workstationat the time it was a mediocre deal considering the small form factor price inflation
>>110224622I tossed that mobo, I couldn't even use it with my 9950x. it just came part of the dealand I don't know if you've looked at 128gb ram prices recently... but I think what I got was worth it considering the current market
>>110223937imagine resorting divide 2x8GB to two computers
>>110224418Is this really you?
>>110223937>Why didn't you buy some?I did. I bought 128GB of DDR4 for my home server. Paid less than $200 for the batch.
>>110224671there are few chudwell pro owners here anon
>bought ram at the start of the ram crisis>got jewed a little bit, but not too badI got 64gb of ram but now I'm thinking I should have gotten 96gb or even 128...
>>110224536>maybe a handful of people worldwide could have accurately predicted the current RAMpocalypse three years agoNo one predicted it but the environment was so good for a platform/RAM upgrade that I really don't understand why people didn't.Intel was practically giving away CPUs and mobos, AMD Mobo prices settled down. RAM was cheapIt's easy to say no one predicted it but I also ask why so gun shy the last few years? And why cry now?
Got 2x64 gb 5600 sodium and 2x64 gb 5600 dimm for like 600 total in early-mid 2025. Now they're like 2k each. Kinda nuts. Not even using the sodimms atm, decommissioned the system they were in temporarily.
>>110224483>mini PC>coolThat shit will be roasting THOUGH
>>110224418>Using all that with windows.What a shame.
sit
>>110224418You cheaped out on storage.
>>110224723because in 2022 - 24 high speed DDR4 and low speed DDR5 didn't make enough of a difference to justify purchasing a new motherboard and CPU, and in some cases new nvme/gpu to take advantage of the higher speed additional PCIe lanes. users are crying now because the increases in cost / decrease in availability are for absolutely insane reasons.
>>110224830you will never be a real os troonix
>>110224155windows 11
>>110223937I bought 64GB DDR4 in 2023 because DDR5 was expensive and like the retard I was I didn't think it was a big deal because DDR5 will just get cheaper anyway
>>110223937>look at me!>I bought ram when it was cheap>I'm so lucky and smartWell some of us didn't, fuck you.
>>110224607Nice
>>110224640No kidding. Congrats anon.
>>11022393732gb was overkill for my use case then, and it still is today. I'm comfy with my $100 32gb ddr5 ram kit from a couple of years ago.
Stop hoarding all the ram. Data centers need it more than you.
>>110223937Am I allowed to join the club with my lowly gaymen ddr4?
>>110225199This just makes me want to cry. How can someone be so wrong in life?? Congrats on still having enough brain power to keep living another 3 years.
>>110225235That's one of my less concerning purchases honestly
>>110225242Come here. It'll be ok. Let it out.
Cuck Oldman seething watching people waste ram on local chinese llms instead of renting his chatpoopee dumb ai
My humble 96GB kit I picked up right before everything went to shit. I bought an AIO with a fan on it to keep that shit a bit cooler since my memory is worth like $2.5k now.
>>110223937I actually thought about upgrading a few months before all this stuff went to hell, but didn't really feel like upgrading my motherboard too. Kicking myself every day now.
I have 128bg ddr4
>>110225284I just unironically dropped $39k on a nissan frontier
