>>110227209Would've been cool 20 years ago when burning your own CDs and DVDs was an everyday thing.
I don't need a CD burner. I don't
>>110227255You need a CD burner. You will download the application. You will install the application. You need a CD burner. You do.
>>110227255>not having one already
>>110227235Buy an old car & you'll have a genuine use case for this!
Hm I do have a DVD burner and a DVD spindle... but what would be use case?
>>110227209That's very cool but doesn't this mean you can only use like half the disc storage?
>>110227569Not if you use dual layer DVD
>>110227502what is the use case for your continued existence
>>110227413>Buy an old car & you'll have a genuine use case for this!Just get an aftermarket HU with bluetooth and/or AUX input
>>110227668shut up zoomer
>blob
>>110227209So it's basically DiscT@2 (god I hate that name) without needing special drive models?
>>110227813yeah
>>110227756I'm a millenial, asshole
Nero
>>110227209pretty cool. I wonder if there's a practical use for this, like maybe some intermediate step for homemade PCB or chip photolithography.
>>110227209must. resist. burning. goatse.
>>110227209I saw that it says not to burn on non-blank discs, but can it burn images on readonly discs? The ones I don't care about being in a readable state?
>>110227967You burn your Bitcoin wallet to the CD and write in large sharpie "ANON'S BITCOIN WALLET CALL 1-234-5678 IF LOST DO NOT OPEN" on the front of the CD then print tiled goatse on the other side with the real bitcoin wallet in one of the assholes, put a wallet containing $15 on the actual data.
This looks neat, but I assume it's for creating purely decorative discs? I mean once you burn the image onto the disc, you cannot also store regular data on it as well, right? Or are you supposed to use some special kind of disc where you burn the label side instead?
>>110227967you can just print on a transparent sheet with a normal ass printer
>>110227255>not having a case with a 5.25" bayBurning disc is always useful (having multiple arch/gparted/etc liveCD, burning saturn game, etc)
>>110227209>LightScribe is now obsoletethis draws on the reflective surface of the CD, lightscribe draws on the top side of the CD, so it's not fully obsolete yet, you could even have a CD with inscriptions on both sides now if you have a lightscribe drive with a compatible CD.
>>110227209coolest fucking thing ive seen in yearsactually baseding out right now
>>110227209>LightScribezoomzoomAlso this existed years and years ago, unless this one can write data instead of just cool patterns, I don't read chinese
>>110228372... you can't read at all that's what it does. I's data written to look like an image.
>>110227967Now there's a thought. I wonder if you COULD use this to print photolithography masks.
>>110228076At 400 DPI. Maybe 1600 DPI if you have a good printer.Meanwhile, a single layer DVD is 2mil DPI monochrome.
has anyone got this working i have tried but no image comes out on the discs, it has some calibration mode but i cant figure it out and the github instructions dont really explain>>110227209> LightScribe is now obsolete light scribe was for printing labels you cant store a full disc of data like this, guess it could work like that if you get double sides discs
Pretty cool, did anyone burn any swastika or Hitler photos on their disks? Asking for a friend.
