Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.
1st rule of /csg/: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

posting again in a new thread, maybe someone else will see and give some good suggestion if not i'm getting wolfbox
anyone ordered one of these jump starter/ compressor combos and has a model to recommend. I'm thinking between Baseus VJ1 and WOLFBOX 4000A, the wolfbox seems to have more truthful specs, compared to baseus, these models are more pricey, but all the cheaper models have bullshit specs, like they turn 10l diesel engine and shit.

I don't have any experience with those brands, but I wouldn't trust them in a pinch. Hell, I've got 'US' versions of them and I don't trust them. I've got a vitomax or something, similar size (like a handheld) and it's good for maybe 10-15psi depending on the existing tire pressure, and probably a couple cranks on a 4.0L V8 from my experience with it. I've got two of them in the trunk just in case, and I've managed to use them a couple of times, so worth it I guess, but I wouldn't be trying to drive cross country relying on them.

I guess my PTM7950 must be finished roasting to a perfection by now. If it was fake then it's a good fake because it just works. I had gotten used to the idea that my laptop is supposed to be a space heater. It cools down from full load to idle temperature range real quick. Good deal for a few dollars.

I lost my 10yr old bluetooth dongle to the void behind my desk. Need a new one. Which one is the recommended model these days?

So I found this guy reviews aliexpress assorted items from time to time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiTGuvSBNP4 any other channels worth checking? Seeing someone using their purchase sure beats the usual "5 stars, arrived fast"

the europeans have free uni and high paying jobs. free healthcare. they get paid to have children. walkable cities. i don't have that. well they sure get taxed a lot though.
ah well life goes on.
>>
>>110234185
I shop on taobao. The Chinese shipping company that I use for shipping from China delivers stuff directly to their warehouses in my city. There are no prices printed on the packages (at least none that I can discern, as the labels are 100% in Chinese). Even if I order something that exceeds the minimum import free amount, the local customs can't tell. I literally haven't paid any import fees/tariffs/whatever in over 2 years at this point.

>>110234227
that's good then. keep it a secret so the influencers don't fucking tell everyone.

Where the fuck are the PayPal discounts? I saw this and went to open rakuten only to find it gone. Now AliExpress made it disappear. Did the limit already hit?
>>
>>110234787
reading the terms and conditions there's a limited amount everyday. for me last year it reset at 12am my time, not necessarily the server time adjusted to PT
>>
>>110234185
>free uni
not remotely, but it is heavily subsidised
it depends but a degree is still going to cost you around €10,000
>high paying jobs
only in rich europe and only in the big cities
in rural portugal the best you can do is seasonal work on a farm, if theres even something for you to do anyway
>paid to have children
thats russia not the eu, they have since soviet times
>walkable cities
our "cities" are generally tiny, whats the point of walkability when theres nothing to walk to
the only real benefit is easy access to shops and supermarkets, but dont think that includes anything more than the bare necessities
i have to travel to amsterdam for anything that isnt basic groceries

and i live in a "city" with a population of around 75k
>>
>>110234896
well i have been misinformed. europe absolutely stinks.
>>
>>110234901
It does bro, going for a vacation is nice if the weather allows it in the right season. But if you're coming from the outside without proper papers and money you will suffer.
>>
>>110234879
I'll have to spend some time learning how it works in my zoning. I woke up prior to the perceived reset time and it wasn't there, and then I checked at reset, not there. I waited 90 mins and it showed up in one cart but then when I opened rakuten it was gone. Fuck this noise.
>>
>>110234132
Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

So I did some research and it seems that, at least for bluetooth-only usb chips, the rtl8761c is the best right now.
Unfortunately it's incredibly rare, only found in two overpriced asus dongles and one edimax (that's obviously identical to the asus). Doesn't help these companies always hide what chip they use.
Most dongles use the older rtl8761b, or if they're really cheap barrot or ats chips, these are known to have problems. The ugreens despite being on the more expensive side use barrot chips.

Also yes I'm on linux and I was having issues with audio dropping out, thought it was my old dongle but guess what, tried it on windows and not a single issue. So I guess now I get to try and debug the entire linux stack.
>>
>>110236709
>Unfortunately it's incredibly rare
Why does everything have to be like this. Years ago I bought a random wifi card because I needed it. Turns out it's a piece of shit broadcom that needs non-standard linux package. At the time the Linux supported Intel chips were hard to get. I don't know how it is now. Why does manufacturing have to be assholes and make jank shit instead of the good one.
I've been living with a Broadcom pain in my ass all these years.
>>
>>110234227
Superbuy?
>>
>>110236766
That has gotten a little better over time.
It's easier to get wifi that justwerks and even jank ass Realtek stuff now has pretty decent support. Broadcom has always sucked.
https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi

Though it is happening again with newer wifi standards.

>Why does manufacturing have to be assholes and make jank shit instead of the good one.
It's cheap and as long as somebody shits out a Windows driver that mostly works they make bank.
>>
>>110236709
theres nothing wrong with the rtl8761b
your "best right now" isnt even in production consumer devices right now
>>
>>110237880
There is one which is rebranded by asus (twice) and edimax.
8761b has no le audio support, if I'm buying I want to future proof a bit. Otherwise I'll just keep using my old csr dongle.
>>
>>110237907
so get one of those or keep your current dongle
just stop complaining
its proprietary crap on a very non-proprietary operating system, it just doesnt work well
>>
>>110237949
no one's "complaining" you sperg I literally just infodumped because someone might be interested in CURRENT state of adapters, not almost a year ago in the link you posted.
>>
>>110237611
No, it's a relatively obscure app that covers only my city, but superbuy or a better alternative should work, depending on where you live.

I bought this VEnTIOn 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable a couple years ago. It's become rigid. The cable is curling, it won't straighten anymore. I'm sure the outer braid is holding together the inner plastic wire insulation from crumbling to bits. I have a Toocki 3.5mm cable ordered at the same time. It's still fine.

Not a good look for the vEnTiOn brand. And why did they use SpongeBob sarcasm case for their name...
