ROFLMAO
>>
>head support
Are you a baby? Twig neck lol
>>
>>110230906
Sit up straight, dumbass.
>>
>>110230906
>headrest on a desk chair
I pay you to work, not to lounge around
You can lounge around at home
>>
got an embody and this was by far the best purchase I've ever made. headrests are a retarded meme
>>
I've got one of these and if it came with a headrest I would have thrown it away because that's really fucking stupid. There is no universe in which I'm resting my head on the back of my chair, you fat fuck.
>>
>>110230915
>>110230933
Imagine if car chairs came with no headrest because you're too arrogant about your design philosophy
Or you say things like "don't put an aftermarket headrest you will void your warranty"
>>
>>110230947
>upper spine, head and neck support/restraint is bad because... It just is ok???
>>
>>110230906
how often do you actually sit at your chair?
for work with a laptop i can't justify the cost for a HM if most of the day i'm shuffling between standing, sitting, on the sofa, lying on the bed, garden if not raining, going up and down the house constantly , kitchen table, wherever i feel like it is the good vibe
>>
>>110230947
I have the embody and I bought the aftermarket headrest and it makes it even better.
>>
>>110230906
It isn’t. Works great as is. Hasn’t changed since like 1994. Love my HM Aeron.
>>
>>110231011
I bet you don't work at your desk for more than 5 minutes.
>>
>>110230906
The weight of your head rests on your spine, why the hell do you need a headrest??

Maybe if it were a recliner, you’d need a headrest, but in an office chair you can hardly lean back comfortably anyways. Car seats only have headrests to prevent your head from snapping back in an accident
>>
>>110231096
I've got a thousand AI agents begging to take your job. If sitting in a chair at a desk is too strenuous for you I suggest going home and not coming back.
>>
>>110230906
I'd rather have a headrest than armrests. I've removed the armrests on every desk chair I've ever used
>>
>>110231217
If you can't even sit for a full day without something keeping your head upright, you are a fat piece of shit.
>>
Maybe I'm just built different but I have never really thought
>wow this steelcase leap v2 would be better with a headrest
If I want to relax there are places to do that.
>>
how fat are you?
>>
Novody cares, OP. Work harder.
>>
>>110231011
>you fat fuck.
uhm excuse me
fat fuck in an aeron here
if you're fat then (even when you have the tilt disabled) the chair will tilt slightly forward which results in you sliding off it super super slowly
as a result your feet are always on the ground to prevent sliding and you kind of go into a slouch as a default position
I do have a head rest on my aeron but I only use it while fapping
>>
looks overrated. what are the alternatives?

looks impossible to sit up in that chair but that might just be my five years of scoliosis talking. i do try sitting up straight whenever i can though. it stopped being annoying about a year ago :-)
>>
Ive never rested by head on any chair
>>
>>110230906
why do you need a headrest? Are you too fat or short or something?
>>
But it has a headrest, you can buy it additi8
>>
>>110234027
Only people who don't need headrest are people so short they get neck and head support without it.
>>
You know its possible to tilt the chairs backrest to a more horizontal position
there headrest is useful if you want to watch media
>>
>>110230906
you're almost there. next step is not leaning your back either
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5A7Htqa-4fE
>>
>>110230906
Doesn't let you sit like a Goblin either, this is a wagecuck chair. It exists so that the accounting office can write off your chair as ergonomic office equipment, while still being so restrictive that your manager can come in and see his wagie being uncomfortable and respectable.
>>110230933
Sitting up straight is the worst, you should be reclining properly with your feet up and occasionally getting up to move around, do some yoga that looks like you're humping the floor and do deadlifts/dead hangs, but no boss wants to watch his wagecucks doing that.
>>110231242
For reclining at 130-ish degrees. Believe it or not, but healthy sitting is required for a good chair.
>>
>>110231077
>Imagine if car chairs came with no headrest
They don't come with a headrest. They come woth a head restraint which is there solely to reduce manufacturer liability from frivolous whiplash claims.
It's only a matter of time until this chair company or others like it get sued due increased cases of workplace whiplash workman's compensation and every chair you buy forces your head forward into a posture that is more damaging and more difficult to recover from than sudden injury.
>>
there's a whole thing with chairs specifically that's kind of weird
>learning piano
>we use piano benches with as little padding as possible (if any) because they've done for a gorillion years and you need to get used to it for that stage recital that will never happen
>exercise bike
>yeah you just need to push pedals up and down but it needs to resemble an actual bike seat down to the scrote destroying saddle because biking is serious business and recumbent is a dirty word for lazy invalids
>desk chair
>yeah actually you need to sit absolutely stock straight up and do permanent damage to your hip flexors ROM because even though studies show it's better to recline as close as possible to laying down is better that's just not acceptable

>church pews
>school desks
>bar stools

Look at that retarded piece of shit. Here's a big lesson for you morons. Your doesn't curve like that. You should be sitting on a flat surface. Not a fucking bowl that bows your pelvis up and in toward all the nerves in your lower spine.
Ergonomic chairs are a scam. Think about it. Even if a curved seat made sense, how could a fixed shape fit every different sized male and frmale body? You can't have a one size fits all ergonomic chair by adding curves.
The only one size fots all solution is the best chair every made. It is all 90° angles and flat. The only thing that needs to be adjusted is the heigh of the legs to keep the user's knees bent 90° with feet flat on the floor.
Probably rvery generation since boomers have been scammed you can't even see it. You just accept these stupid chairs without questions and wonder why you feel like shit all the time.
>>
>>110231215
i finally caved and bought one
god it's so nice
>>
>>110234999
We are thousands of years deep into "This is how it's done properly (copies something he saw someone rich use from a distance)".
Our environment is no longer shaped for humans, it's shaped for people trying to start cargo cults centered around wealth and social status (and to get rid of industrial surplus as inefficiently as possible).
>>
Couldn't justify buying an Aeron but I have a Mirra and its the best thing
If I have to sit on some other shitty chair I get angry

This is the perfect chair and body mechanics.
If you're sitting on bolsters or a curved seat, congrats. You're a rube. I'm hoping you will double down and resist me so I further my advantage over people running around with bad backs and tight hips.
>>
>>110235136
medieval torture device
>>
>>110235052
The actual solution is to mold a seat to your exact body shape like in racecars
>>
>>110231296
>>110231623
Fatfags don't need headrests, lanklets and twinks with 90 degree spines do
>>

>>
>>110235254
Logged in to say this. Obese people have those air port neck pillows built into their body.
>>
>>110235254
Twinks already get a headrest when they're face down in the pillow getting plowed
>>
>>110235266
David, we're putting you on a PIP due to unprofessional language
>>
I have never ever needed a headrest
The worst chair I ever sat on, the IKEA Markus had a headrest and its utter shit
>>
>>110230906
My first job was out in college I had a aeron, 2 weeks in my boss walks in on me looking at the back of the chair crouched on the floor like a monkey, gave him a good chuckle. It was my first time seeing an aeron irl. I was quite fond of it. And I think it was bc of that interaction he treated me quite well. Even gave me a programming book to read. Too bad my manager had a stroke and I was let go.
>>
>>110235342
The IKEA Markus is an amazing chair. It is arguably better than the meme hm aeron despite costing fuckall. The only better thing about the aeron is better suspension. The fact it has a headrest is just a bonus.
>>
>>110235359
sitting on a Markus for 2 years has led me to developing sustained back pain that passed when I bought a Mirra
It might just be the worst chair ever
>>
>>110235521
You clearly have some kind of muscle or bone issue (e.g. sciatica or pelvic instability). You should get checked.
Ergonomically the key difference between the two is that the markus has no pelvic support system, but if you are healthy that is completely unneeded.
>>
I have very severe back and neck pain if I sit poorly, and the only chair I can sit in comfortably (sort of) that I know of is the HM Aeron.
It makes my legs hurt a bit because of the sharp feeling edge, but it's not that bad. Neck and back are good. If I sit in a chair with a head rest, I'll develop mega neck pain in less than 8 hours and I'll suffer from it for like a day afterwards.
>>
>>110230906
Fuck the headrest, look at the base of the seat. That's terrible design applying all the pressure on two thin arms. Not something you want to buy to last you 10 years.
>>
>>110235594
The armrests do suck, but the seat base is very good. It's why people like this chair, people with muscle deficiencies can feel comfortable with it.
>>
>>110235594
I hear that these do in fact last 10 years, then people buy them used and they last for many years after that still.
>>
>>110235136
>If you're sitting on bolsters or a curved seat, congrats. You're a rube.
No, you'd be a human being. Your body is not square, your joints and spine are not rigid.
>>
>>110230906
Meshshit was always a meme
Plastic and mesh is destined for the landfill in 5 years.
>>
>>110236262
People report their Aeron still doing fine after 15+ years of daily usage
>>
>>110230906
This is a chair for working not for lying down and resting your head you lazy bastard
>>
paying 500 euros for a bunch of plastic and polyester.
what is this /fa/?

One thing I like about Ikea Markus is that I can recline on it whenever I feel lazy. Wouldn't want to get an ergo chair that can't let me be a lazy fuck from time to time like that. I never developed any chronic back pains, maybe I'm of perfect height and proportions for it (1.8m)
>>
>>110237567
Polyester is plastic, it's a polymer of many (poly) esters.
>>
>>110238030
You just don't have dangerously undeveloped pelvis muscles is all.

Mine has almost a decade of runtime and it's still holding up. It desperately needs to be washed though.
>>
>>110238087
First one I had for 13 years, got rid of it only because I moved. Current one I had since ~2019 or so.
>>
>>110230906
I removed headrest from my chair because it made my neck ache even more.
>>
Are you retards new to products? It was designed with no headrest by default so they can charge you $350+ for the official headrest add-on. This is extremely common among all the major manufacturers
>>
>>110238270
I bet you felt pretty smart typing all that out. However, Steelcase nor Herman Miller offer head rest options. Which is funny because the whole point of your post was calling everyone else a retard.

>but don't want to buy it without sitting on it first incase it's shit
>literally no shop in my country has it
I really can't be fucked to go through the effort of posting it back and trying to get a return on it if I don't like it after buying it online.
>>
>>110238427
>gesture
Is that the seat for receptionists? I can imagine selling a product for women who have weak necks, my bad. Though I do think you knew exactly what chairs I was referring to when I brought up those two brands and chose to post that.
>>
>>110238477
In my country you have two options. One is to buy a chair for $10 that was made in China and will fall apart in a few months. The other option is to buy a brand new imported Herman Miller chair for double its MSRP. Everyone in my country sits on garbage.
>>
>>110238492
>moving the goalposts
you're still a retard
>>
>>110238538
No one thinks of a gesture when someone mentions steelcase and you know that.
>>
>>110238525
But I'm worried about wasting money on an expensive chair if it's uncomfortable like chink shit and I have to jump through massive hoops to get my money back. Fortunately I have sat in an Herman Miller chair, shit, which is why I don't want to buy a Gesture without trying it first.
>>
>>110238573
I think you are right to be skeptical. Almost every chair that I've sat in forces you into an unhealthy slouching position, because they know that when you sit in the chair in the store, you're probably an absolute moron, and you're going to interpret the slouching garbage as being comfortable, and you're going to buy the chair. The customer is always wrong.
>>
>>110238563
It is their flagship product, the number 1 competitor to the aeron. The only people not directly comparing are the ones literally too poor to even consider the flagship products from the 2 largest office chair companies
