Unexpected rapid icing and potent turbulence when going near-trans sonic speeds can really screw you up. It is just one pitch in the wrong direction and things will rapidly escalate.
There's a reason why the SOP for dealing with violent weather is to divert and avoid it altogether if possible.

These jets have kinda small wings for their size and would make terrible gliders.
And it seems like gliding wasn't an option at all because what they lost was lift. If you're not generating lift any more, you can't glide.
Now I think it is more likely the horizontal stab was lost due to the overspeed as it was descending, rather than being lost first and causing the loss of control, but I'll wait and see what the data that comes out is.

Its seems pretty clear that the stabilizer did break off, the video shows it missing, NTSB mentions partial breakup. We don't know when but it was probably after the descent started and they were overspeed, though icing would increase drag so it would probably break off sooner than under normal conditions.
>>
>>110236502
>the stabilizer did break off
Is that an unavoidable death sentence for a plane like this?
>>
>>110236515
Their fate was probably sealed before that, but yes, no horizontal stabilizer means you're fucked. There has been a case of a airliner making a (semi) survivable landing when the tail controls were broken (UAL 232) as they were able to control attitude by adjusting thrust, but with no stabilizer at all that would not have been possible.

Chick had a pilot license at 17 so I'm guessing she knew something more than you. Most people where I live bitch about not knowing english in high school either, while I already had a certificate in it before high school even started and didn't understand why it was a big deal, all I did was listen to english albums as a kid while reading the lyrics in the liner notes (it was the Red & Blue Albums from Beatles). And spending hours with a vocabulary translating game manuals word by word so I can figure out how to play xy video game. It was all fun and games for me but it gave me skills.

It's all about what you put into life and how you are brought up, not privilege. If your parents teach you math at age 4, you'll probably be pretty good at that when you grow up. If they teach you how to play the piano, or do some sport, you may be able to leverage those skills too. But if all you hear as a kid is your drugged up nigger dad beating your ass, you'll grow up as a thug bitching about muh white privilege.

All you did was had a brain that liked that in the first place, IQ is real, and innate. You were destined to not be a retard.

Point is shit costs money and DEI initiatives will bankroll one student to that degree while others take on decades of debt. Guarantee nobody is putting a white male from Iowa through flight school free with the high school paying for it.

Fighter jet pilots have specialized suits, helmets, oxygen supplies, etcetera so they don't freeze to death, have their skull caved in from slipstream, or suffocate, when they punch out from the ejector seat.

This was a family of 4, dressed casually, carrying infants with them. An ejector seat alone may have killed the infant.

I was thinking they could've just used normal parachutes, but from what I remember the plane dived nose forward into the ground like a bunker buster, which would've meant it was falling at ridiculous enough speeds. I don't think it would've been even possible to open the plane door to use parachutes. Really the only thing you could do at that point is either pray, or if anyone carried a gun, commit early suicide.

Wonder about the feasibility of an "escape pod" of some sort everyone gets into, could be part of the existing seating area that would separate and rocket off then chute down. Would cost a fortune but hey the President in "Escape from New York" had one after all haha.

Don't forget about that insurance company CEO who got executed on the street by a dude with a chronic pain condition who they repeatedly denied payments to.

Not true, I have a LOT of learning problems, basically anything I'm not interested in, I can't even temporarily memorize. The way I graduated high school was akin to winning a lottery (over here you have to learn 40-50 different topics per class, then on the final exam you pull a random topic out of a hat and you have to talk about that - I knew something like 2-3 in total, the few that I found interesting, and managed to pull those and pass).

Basically I'm retarded in every way except some light programming that I started early enough that you still had to worry about enough cycles for a task. But give me a trigonometry task and I'd completely fold up even for that.

Yeah, maybe not drop 2-3000$ a year on the latest iphone/mac/oled/nintendo or hundreds a month for every streaming channel or $25 for a starbux coffee every day.

Also learn how to repair your shit. I have three 10+ year old phones that still work thanks to replacement parts and because my dad taught me how screwdrivers and batteries worked when I was maybe 5 years old.

I thought the presidential escape pod was from that movie Air Force One, where Harrison Ford is the president and terrorists take over the plane.

But I don't really remember Escape from New York very well, it could have had one too, it's an earlier movie.

Don't know exactly where the parts were found, but if you assume it broke off at the center of the 1.3-3.8 mile range they give, the estimated point it detached at was in the red circle
