lol

lmao, even
>>
Im already learning chinese
>>
>>110240935
Techbros didn't even bother to pretend these things would have any benefit to anyone with a stock portfolio worth less than 10 million
>>
>>110240964
So it goes
>>
The same people who are anti-data center will gloat when China's compute outpaces the US.
>>
>>110240935
this dude gets paid by thiel to post on twitter
>>
>>110241140
No I won't. How does that make any sense?
>>
>>110241178
Because these types of people primarily anti-data center in the US only.

nobody cares if bugmanland outcometes pissreal in compute.
>n-no its your c-country goy
lmao sure schlomo
>>
>>110240935
if these companies are so worried about competing with china why don’t they actually design products people want to use? people don’t want centralization and datacenters, if they want LLMs at all, they want to run modes locally and everyone with braincells can already see smaller specialized models are the future of LLMs, not giant general purpose frontier models
>>
>>110241202
Give me 5 uses cases for local AI. Bonus points if the local AI is actually capable of completing the task.
>>
>>110241188
you are completely detached from reality. no one but politicians who are directly financially benefiting and corpos want this shit
>>
>>110241216
Okay, Chang.
>>
>>110241213
in the near future local models will be able to do any task a frontier model can do if it is specialized for it, so all of them
>>
>>110240935
No idea why these billionaires are so patriotic for. They should all give up and let the poors deal with china.
>>
>>110240935
Literally who?
>>
Combo the datacenter with its own power production
Closed loop cooling
nowhere near residential.
>>
>>110241237
not good enough, billionaires want to ruin your quality of life and property value for funsies. gotta build this shit in suburbs
>>
>>110241178
But the opposite would be even more idiotic.
>"we shouldn't build data centers!"
>China outpaces us
>"wtf how could we let this happen?"
>>
>>110240964
I've had conversations about the AI centers with people in real life,
And they will say things like
>muh jobs!
And I will say, but 99% of that is temp work of low value, they're just building a giant warehouse really.
>well I know most of the muh jobs is only relatively temporary construction roles
And I tell them, a modern supermassive datacenter once built out, has probably, 4 people for every 10-20 million worth of equipment.
>Yeah but muh construc -
Paid for by your taxes?
>Yeah but technology innovati-
Your power bill and taxes are going to increase even if the datacenters pay their equivalent share of costs.
>Ok yeah but -

This is side-related, but ~60% of Vivek Ramaswamy's votes in Ohio came from 60-80 year old white women who will get violently angry at you if you call the 60s hippies useful commie idiots.
Just a relationary example.
The same people who recognize house valuations and property taxes have become a tax income scam can't recognize that they're being scammed on all sides.
>>
>>110241213
I'm not going to list specifics, I will only say that decent level local models get things done for mew that I simply do not have the time to do myself, unless I wanted it to take 6 months instead of 3 weeks.
Sure the current conditions mean the upfront cost is high for normal people, but 40GB of gpu ram can go quite a long way these days if the model is given good reference docs and a good instruction while keeping the work scope "module by module"
>>
>>110241243
>we need 66 trillion datacenters goy
>you’re gonna pay for it, you’re never going to be able to afford hardware again, your cost of electricity is going up and we are building it to replace your job
>we can’t lose to china now can we
Why would any normal person want any of this? Electoral winter starts now. Republicans are never going to win again so long as dems just say they are against AI and datacenters.
>>
>>110241269
You will still lose your job but now you will pay China for the privilege of it.
>>
>>110241244
I work in a DC, there are hundreds of us just as techs, not counting logistics.
For all the complaints about no tech jobs, people sure do rage about these ones.
>>
>>110241275
so you’re telling me I have nothing to lose either way. why do I care again? at least in the latter case I have a chance of getting a decent local model out of it instead of owning nothing
>>
>>110241280
China will own the stars but your electricity bill will only go up by 300% instead of 350%.
>>
>>110240935
Two more weeks trans
>>
>>110240935
no american is learning shit. lul.
>>
>>110241287
I wasn't going to be owning any stars either way, so who cares?
>>
>>110240935
Billionaires need to learn to give up
>>
>>110241287
In the world these people are trying to build, no one but billionaires will own anything either way. You have failed to explain why I should care whether that future is ruled by sociopathic death cultists like dario and scam altman versus chinky chinky chyyyyna. If LLMs really are just completely inevitable and unstoppable, I’d rather live in a world that maximizes local ownership over the hands of the few controlling all compute.
>>
>>110241287
>wrong billionaires will own things
Does not make my life better or worse in any way. I am noticing the shilling you're doing though.
>>
>>110240938
you can't change your race to chinese. Why do you think anyone needs a meat Google Translate app?
>>
>>110240935
This is literally not even fucking true. Oh my god. Unironically rape and kill everyone ITT for not even checking themselves.
>>
>>110240935
AI datacenters will come back in two years as "Information Processing Sites" and will be used to track and harass anyone of fair skin. And you will cheer for it just like you cheered for masks.
>>
>>110241378
Why do you even bother speaking english, rasheed? That's because English is a powerful language just like Chinese soon

>"hey let's build these data centers that will dramatically increase costs of consumer hardware and wipe out half of all jobs"
>"wait what the fuck why do you hate us"
why are tech CEOs so retarded?
>>
>>110241388
*like you cheered for the current batch of surveillance state corporate bot farms.

Get it right, Rajesh.
>>
>>110241140
You could just upgrade all the current data centers yearly with the new hardware to keep ahead of China for 5+ years.
Realistically, there's no danger of China beating the US in compute in the near future. But raw compute isn't the real metric. It's a bullshit fake metric.
>>
so are ram prices going to go back down?
>>
>>110241275
>don't let China take your job, give me money and no regulation so I can do it instead
Fuck off Elon, I'm not buying your spyware immolation-mobile. Shove grok back up your ass where it came from.

>>110241244
You left out the shit the parrot from random youtube videos about muh closed loop, then after they always conveniently leave out the 40%+ extra electricity those take and that the water consumption doesn't even always go down since the heat the coolant absorbs still needs to fucking go somewhere.
>>
>>110240935
elon is the real winner here
this just puts more demand towards space data centers
>>
>>110241244
Vivek promised to end property taxes, so that factored heavily into how he got the nomination.

thats happening either way. china isnt owned by evil boomers and xirs who sold the country for cruises and zoomer pussy

china builds power plants and fabs, the us builds absolutely nothing

Data centers are ludicrously profitable. It wouldn't take much to placate local communities. But alas such is the nature of vampire leeches.

If you look at his posts earlier this week he's on vacation in Japan and some other American could tell he was a Jew and started yelling about Israel to him and he freaked out and started saying the guy should be deported lmao.

>Build data centers with cooling solutions that create insane noise pollution 24/7

Maybe investing a bit more into noise reduction and everything would have been fine, but thats the part where the trillion dollar industry has to cut costs.
>>
>>110240935
my agent already speaky the chiney
>>
>>110241861
A lot of previous data centers are small, distributed buildings in commercial areas you wouldn't even know they were there.
Of course, they started data center maxxing and had to build giant shopping mall sized data centers in areas you would normally build a shopping mall.
