Anyone else live in constant terror that each time they reboot their computer, it might not come back?

>>110271815Everything breaks. I think I just broke 4chan with this thread:>>110271664In the catalog, but link doesn't work. For your computer all you can do is keep it clean, monitor the temps & voltage, do basic maintenance like changing the thermal paste every year or two. Then when stuff breaks you fix it. I had to replace seven bad fans in desktop over the past year. Better fans than something really expensive.
>>110271815this is why you never throw away old computers, ALWAYS have a backup machine or three
>>110271827the backrooms
>>110271815No because i have enough spare parts to build at least 5 more computers
>>110271815My biggest fear eight now is that the nations just-in-time supply hain breaks down sometime between Christmas and New Year and I’m stuck with the food and ammo I have while civilization breaks down in auch a way that makes the BLM riots looks like a typical black friday during Obama
>>110271860You watch the movie? It wasn't bad, but I wish they explored more instead of turning it into a run from the monster movie like every other horror movie. My thinking is if the backrooms is really massive, then running into a monster should be rare.
For me it's mostly the disabling windows' gay crap and driver changes. I can't believe how much insane cruft there is in windows and I'm not even using 11. I remember back when you could open task manager and everything would fit on one page and you'd know what every exe was doing. Now there's 6000000 services and like 14 layers of them turning themselves back on if you try to disable them. watchdogs and "pc health" crap, remotely monitored to ensure anything you try to subtract from the os gets put back in. i thought i locked down every windows update/defender ip but now it's running an "AI ENHANCED" exe on my system with no request for permission. Try to rip out and disable everything I can.... but will it reboot?>inb4 dont windows
>>110271873I was in Japan during the big earthquake in 2011 and all the food water and toilet paper disappeared for a couple weeks, it wasn't fun. I still have a roll of pink toilet paper that my friend brought over for me I keep as a reminder.
>>110271879This is actually easily solved. Ask grok to teach you about domains and group policy. Microsoft still respects a proper sys admin’s control over the domain. But they dont respect a “home” user even the have a pro edition license. Set up your own home domain. You can even enable radius authentication for your wifi and thwart a lot of wifi MITM attacks
>>110271815My average uptime is a month lol.
>>110271815My computer costs 200 dollars and it was refurbished
>>110271815yes i have a lot of pc related paranoia, ur not alone
>>110271815Mine has done that, and then came back hours later. You get used to it.
If my PC crashed i would just dust off my M2 mac mini and use it
I once shut my pc off for a week to go on a trip and when I came back it wouldn't power on again. I never power off anymore.
>>110271815No, because i shutdown my computer whenever I don't use it (muh exceptions apply).I still don't understand the circlejerk about muh uptimes.Starting with a fresh session every day/time is the absolute best. Fuck clutter. Fuck one gazillion tabs. I have 5 tabs open right now. 4 of them are 4chan threads that I rail rn
No, I reboot my computer every night.
>>110272356Linux users dont need to reboot. Ever
>>110272368You didn't read my post.I know that I don't have to
That's just Windows life. It got stuck in a doom reboot loop after one update, that trust can never be regained.
>>110271815Your SSD is going...
I had a slackware server with an uptime of over 12 years oncebut i daily drive windersi don't care what my uptime actually is, i just don't reboot. simple as
>>110271815No, because it has never happened without me being at fault (changing settings in the BIOS). Have still not had an SSD failure, RAM failure, CPU failure motherboard failure or PSU failure. Even all of my GPUs still work, going back to 2007.I've had hard drive failures but they've all happened slowly and they were not being used as boot drives anyway. And I have spare RAM, spare SSDs, spare CPUs. And I have backups and a total of 5 machines, so if one of them failed it wouldn't be a massive disruption.
>>110272378arch is for noobs. install gentoo faggot
>>110272368Hahah, Desktop Fedora asks you to reboot to install updates almost every time you look at it.
>>110271879winaero tweaker my beloved
>>110271815uh no, not at all
yeah. my psu is 12 years old it could go at any time. my gpu would be 18k to replace if the 12v housefire cable melted. if my cpu died it would be because an asrock motherboard killed it.
>>110272608I tried to warn you ignorant niggas in every /pcbg/ against buying asrock. You deserve what’s coming with your little ticking time bomb there mister poorfag
