I remember him going to podcasts saying llms can't reason and can't write good code, and now here we are. When are you copers going to accept reality like he did?

at least link the video you fucking nigger
>>110272528Why did i have to graduate into this mess? Why did the boomers tell me how STEM degree is the best thing to do and there are jobs for everyone?

>>110272548when everyone zigs you should zag
>>110272548Same, I just want to rope. On the one hand, there's people telling me "noooooo don't throw away your career / degree, you still have a job, why do you want to change? Wait and see". On the other, it just feels like a sunk cost fallacy and maybe I should just go being a nurse or some shit. I don't fucking know man

>>110272548>>110272572Theoretically, you could still end up Project Manager I guess.
>>110272613Anon I'm not a woman or a homosexual. They will never make me a project manager. Project managers are useless anyway.
>>110272528as always this guy gets a hint of the truth (that contradicts what he's been saying for years), then starts betting everything on it internally and fitting in as many absolute statements in his vlog as he can. the programmers in that Handmade space really do come off as kicking and screaming children who stagger their opinion by a few cycles, always multiple steps behind. but now that they're accepting ai, i wonder how their sense of superiority will outwardly manifest. what they should be doing is rooting for local AI and developing sophisticated handmade harnessing and all that but no, they just use Claude and will have the rug swept from under them LOL.

>>110272572You can deduce what type of product AI is by looking at the revenue of AI companies. If I build a chair factory, my target market is people sitting on chairs. If I build a hammer factory, my target market is the chair builders. Does it feel like AI companies are targeting consumers or producers of programming? You're feeling depressed because you are the target of a highly concentrated shill campaign to convince you that you need to use llm's to stay competitive or to tell your manager that all their employees need to use llm's to stay competitive. Pixar's Renderman is a good example of a product of the factory kind. Initially they we're going to license it to other studios but then thought to create CGI films themselves, their revenue reflects the reality of their product.
Buy an ad.You are right by the way, knowing system engineering and architecture to get to final results faster is the only cope we actual programmers have over the vibecoding proomptcattle.
>programming is solvedSo i can ask it to create a modern OS from scratch and it will just work with whatever features i specified? No? So it isn't solved yet.
>>110272548If it can "comfort" you, programming is just the beginning, finance and 90% of white collar work is going away too.All STEM degrees will be worthless three years from now, it's just computer science got fucked earlier than others. On the pro side, this gives you a little extra time to adapt without falling into sunken costs.
total capitulation. he says he doesn't even trust humans to implement code anymore.
>>110273579use case for humans?
I have done some vibecoding using just free AI plans and honestly despite all the problems LLMs have the actual outcome still ends up better eventually than the typical old manually coded stuff (at least for niche stuff). Because the alternative to asking an LLM is using some shitty proprietary software that was only made for windows xp and earlier.
>>110273511A lot of men think that going into STEM is going to give them a good career only to find out that their degree is basically worthless. Never got any real usage out of my math degree (i did stop at a bachelor because i realized it was kinda pointless anyway).
>>110273668well yeah, with that degree you're just gonna be an academic grifter doing "research"
>>110273684And even if you do get into academia pay and job security is going to be quite bad assuming you can get a job to begin with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVHN3Xoas9UThe whole thing is a massive waste of time and money for everyone involved.
>>110273668The university system is the worst thing to use as a general jobs program like we do now. It was hamfisted for two reasons>IQ tests and similar tests were outlawed so there was no other way for companies to gauge competency>the HS degree itself was ridiculously watered down already so that stopped meaning anything. It actually used to as the bottom half of students tended to flop out prior to graduation. So now we have to spend 4+ years and $100k+ taking all manner of useless other courses just to be allowed to take our industry course work and get a job. Insane.
>>110273738>IQ test for hiringPretty shit idea too. Sure if someone gets 70 you wan't to reject them for any cognitive work. But there is no guarantee that a 140 IQ is a better fit for a task than a 120.
>>110273443>Does it feel like AI companies are targeting consumers or producers of programming? It's targeting the producers of programming: that is big companies. AI is not intended for programmers: it's intended to replace them, to make them obsolete. Programmers, and most people whose job is mainly done on a computer, are still "needed" because most companies haven't figured out how to make the whole pipeline automated. Still, most 100+IQ people could pilot modern llms just fine without being programmers or similar.>You're feeling depressed because you are the target of a highly concentrated shill campaign Please elaborate. I have seen with my own eyes (just as the guy in the video) that llms can code and are faster for most things.
>>110273870Currently it still does help a bit if you are able to understand code when dealing with LLM but honestly you don't really have to even at this point. I started with vibecoding after not programming for over a decade (and never any proper programming) and it worked just fine. You barely have to even read the code. Typically testing it and using several different LLMs is enough.
>>110273738Universities that are a giant waste of time and money is a great example of what you get when you don't have authoritarian governance. You end up with various organizations pursuing their own interest instead of the interest of the wider society due to the lack of proper central control.
>>110273931oh please the gov are equally incompetent
>>110272534things were breaking all the time before slopcode was even a thing. just admit it, human code is currently way sloppier that AI code. However, human + AI code mogs both, not for long tho
>>110272534>no mistakes>ABSOLUTELY no mistakes>also test it properly to make sure of aboveez
>>110272528>When are you copers going to accept reality like he did?April 2026. that's exactly when I realized my profession has changed forever. I just hope I can get another 5 years out of my coding career, so I can save up for a modest retirement.
>>110273994I remember playing poker freerolls (before they stopped having them) for years and their site was broken on mobile (you had to request desktop layout and still not get the full functionality). When i vibecoded my poker game i got to a fully functional mobile layout both for desktop view and mobile view (and both for landscape and horizontal). My quality standard for my vibecoded non-commercial project is significantly higher than what corporations have on websites were people play for real money.
