Funny how those that are so quick to throw insults are often the most ignorant.

I've used free pictures from Getty lots of times in the past. Getty often grant unrestricted logins (any size downloads, no watermark) to advertising agencies and design companies* because they know said agency will pay for any pictures they use commercially. This practice allows those companies to quickly and easily use the images for pitches and mockups etc.

I haven't got that luxury at the moment because where I work at now doesn't use many stock images and I didn't want to go begging to ex-colleagues but it looks like I might have to.

*With due respect, I suggest that maybe you would know that, if you worked in the industry.

You can upscale images.
Guess I forget that graphic designers aren't used to staying up to date on technology, but if you're in this field, you ought to.
The fact that you can do this is fucking unreal. This was like a law of physics that you could scale down, but not up, since the advent of images on computers. But no longer.

Thanks anon. I've used it a bit but not for a while, so yeah, it's bound to have improved.

I had a little play with the firefly feature in potatoshop. It didn't do too badly 2bh.

Unfortunately there was some type on the picture, which got turned into that giveaway AI slop type, which I solved with an overlaid a layer that I rezzed up the old way and unmasked the type onto it.

What I couldn't solve nicely was getting rid of the watermark (cleanly enough).

Oh well. I'll have to ask around for a login.

aren't the watermarks supereasy to edit out by design so that getty can sue for BIG BUCKS everytime a dumbass uses those images comercially?

Try unsplash or pexels.
unsplash is more no nonsense, pexels requires you to have an account.
just manage your expectations.

All of the halftoned graphics are from unsplash with a halftone filter applied.
Unsplash are okay enough for amateur work (like picrel).
