It is indeed extremely weird, because the Annerose VN was borderline experimental for Lilith standards (multiple heroines, a vanilla "True Ending", no training montage but one-off bad ends as H-CGs). It's pretty clear that this scene is relatively tame by Annerose's standards. While I don't think the scenario itself is particularly interesting, the character design turned out exceptionally well, which makes it feel like a missed opportunity. This is what I suspected was the difference, so yeah. I just gotta get around to actually playing it. But I will say, there have been tons of VNs that was able to interest me even before I started to read. In fact even Cara grabs my attention more than Annerose visually, and that's the VN anons put well below Annerose.

I find it incredibly basic for the lionshare of it. Even if I compare it to the first Taimanin Asagi I feel like it's gallery is tame in comparison. I can't find the post anymore since it was a long time ago, but even Ore Halcon, the artist who drew the illustration you posted, shared his personal opinion on X that he preferred Annerose over Asagi, and that was the reason he drew that piece. Not him, but who do we count as Annerose fans? The people who played VN and watched the eroge or those who only know her from RPGX? New fans liking characters only for their designs is why we got into situations where Yukikaze went from the Taimanin NTR mascot girl to the vanilla girl in RPG. If they were going to make a new Annerose VN in the future, they'd obviously stick to the original format that pandered to Black Lilith fans, not RPG one's.
