Why has America never had a great world-historic figure?
For such a large country you’d expect them to have great, conquering, and world defining figures like Napoleon, Caesar, Alexander, etc.
But they don’t.
Why?

Wrong. It was this man.
>>
>>18489599
Because they built a system that didn't need great figures. Look at France after Napoleon or Macedon after Alexander.
>>
>>18489599
All those cultures vhad at least a thousand years to produce one. America has only been around for a couple centuries. But granted our own culture is so paper thin we might never have one anyway.

The way things are going either Sam Altman or Dario Amodei will go down as the most important human in history, so
>>
>>18489599
Neither did Britain
>>
>>18489614
> Look at France after Napoleon
A stable, autocratic bureaucracy? Stupid example
>>
>>18489608
What followed him was the fascism era, the belief that might makes right, restrictive trade policies and authoritarian regimes strengthening their hold on power and preying on their neighbors. Roosevelt's new world order destroyed all of that
>>
>>18489620
Not really. The most important figures in history (other than religious ones) ruled over territories and had armies
>>
>>18489623
Nelson, Marlborough, William the Conqueror and Cromwell
>>
>>18489629
> Roosevelt's
He died in 1944, before the war ended
>new world order destroyed all of that
The same new world order that is withering away right now?
>>
>>18489636
He died in 1945 and that was enough since he made the fundations with Atlantic Charter, Bretton Woods Conference, and Dumbarton Oaks meetings
Also Drumpf will not dismantle the post WW2 order, just like few pagan revolts didn't stop Christanity, it is way too stronger than it appears to be
>>
>>18489646
> He died in 1945
I stand corrected.
> he made the fundations with Atlantic Charter, Bretton Woods Conference, and Dumbarton Oaks meetings
None of that was his doing.
> Drumpf will not dismantle the post WW2 order,
Who the fuck said anything about Trump, retard? God you Americans are so stupid.
No, the WW2 order will end because no global order is permanent. And we’re already seeing signs of its end. You’re on a history board you should know this
>>
>>18489606
This is the correct answer
>>18489603
He is a great man but worldwide he is a nobody, nobody even knows his name outside of the usa and I bet most Americans don't even know each individual name behind FDR
>>
>>18489599
They do. His name is Donald Trump.
>>
>>18489599
The first individual figure to really emerge as a figural individual in the united states was grant i feel and that’s partly because grant’s harmatia or something like that in a play or something was so tied up and intertwined with robert e lees that grant could not help but to acquire roundness as a historical individual, grant and lee don’t even first meet jn the civil war but during the mexican-american war, the mexican-american war is a very foreboding war in some ways and that is a point to where the harmatia of robert e lee and ulysses s grant and does contrast very differently to each other as a prelude before the united states civil war but also what has mexico been doing, does not porforio diaz rule for like a 100 years somewhere over that epoch

Woodrow Wilson was singlehandedly responsible for the nation of Poland. Like there are literally dozens of statues of him in every city in poland.
>>
>>18489599
why would they need one?

You know maybe Birmingham deserved it

All Englishmen are equally great
>>
>>18489599
In the West there's only been like 4-6. Alexander, Caesar, Augustus, Charlemagne, Napoleon, Hitler.
Only Italy, Germany, and Greece are represented.
>>
>>18489632
All of the literal nobodies you have mentioned are important figures in the history of Britain but are absolutely irrelevant to the rest of the world
>>
>>18490510
>Nelson
Destroyed Napoleon’s fleet preventing him organizing a naval invasion of Britain and its colonies
>Marlbrough
Defeated King Louis XIV and prevented French hegemony over Europe
>William the Conqueror
Turned England from an irrelevant backwater into a truly European monarchy. He is also the reason why we’re literally communicating in the English language right now
>Cromwell
Invaded Ireland
>>
>>18489603
youre correct, he created the current hellscape of bureaucracy and fucked up the world for decades to come. thanks faggot d roosevelt
