I honestly agree with a lot of Christianity and find most neopagan arguments annoying, largely because trying to apply pan-Europeanism to ancient peoples is fuckin' stupid. Both the Greeks and Jews are equally foreign. Anyway I can never understand Christian hostility to suicide though, how is that anything else but cowardice?

You often see how the Germanics and Celts, when fighting the Romans or each other, fought to the death - and when they still lost - they committed mass suicide in a final act to avoid slavery and spite their conquerors. Mothers, not wanting their children to get raped and tortured (especially by the Romans who were homos) - killed them! I think this makes perfect sense. There ARE worse than than death! If you disagree, then you are either RETARDED or you are a MASSIVE PUSSY!

This is just one of the parts of Christianity I can never get behind. "Oh you can't commit suicide because... GOD'S WILL OR SOMETHING." Why would he care? "Ohhh but you're made in his image..." I think these fates worse than death would also be defiling his image or whatever.

You'd think that a religion so obsessed with death and martyrdom would not be so petrified at the notion of dying in this particular insistence. Life is good sometimes, but it's not always worth living.

It’s because it’s understood to be murder. Murder of the self, which goes against the commandment of thou shalt not kill.

It's better to look at the real effects of something, rather than getting hung up on semantic autism.

Yeah I would definitely rather die of suicide now than be shipped to an iron mine.

Nah, when the light of God went forth in Christ to destroy the dark hell-spawned demons and expand the borders of heaven upon earth they were doing the will of the God in God's name. That's the gist of the crusades.

Its just a shame that most people these days refuse to see the light. Fun fact, that is also how it was when they went west into the new world.

I'm happy religion is never what you want and pisses you off and makes you resentful.
