The amount of times the bureaucratic- media-class of the west simped for some commie dictatorship only to pretend 50 years later that they never did is staggering.

Castro admired Hitler as much as he admired Stalin. His revolution was romantic and took major balls and he overthrew a kleptocratic government. He wanted land reform and some social democratic policies, but he initially attempted to align himself with the USA before Eisenhower sent a dozen bombing raids over his country and forced him to go to the Soviets for help. And Cuba continued to look pretty based into the 80s with a functional (for central America and the Caribbean) government and their adventures in anti imperialism in Africa and elsewhere. It was only later that his massive economic mismanagement and the misery it caused came out.

>one days some faggots will create a fanclub for me
Every retarded and unpopular dictator says this. Usually out of cope that they were rejected by contemporaries.
>>
>>18492838
Castro is still very popular in his country unlike western leaders
>>
>>18492841
If he is so popular why does does Cuba have an unbelievable 10% emigration rate

how much of the retardation can really be blamed on him and how much comes with socialism?

Cuba started lagging behind the rest of the LatAm after the Soviet Union started to decline and eventually collapse, in the first few decades it was actually a decent place and better than most of Latin America by most metrics. Also it’s impressive how the regime managed to survive even after Castro’s death. If you wanna learn about a failed ideology you should look into Chavismo, and that basically happened because Chavez refused to go far enough
>>
>>18492860
>why does does Cuba have an unbelievable 10% emigration rate
Because the US is starving them to death with the blockade
>>
>>18492931
>Cuba started lagging behind the rest of the LatAm after the Soviet Union
Life expectancy was still higher than the region's average.
>Soviet Union started to decline and eventually collapse
Never happened, anti communist faction seized power and against the will of the majority decided to dissolve the union and adopt a free market system.

He was right, Cuba will go back to being a playground for the wealthy with a destitute underclass.
>>
>>18492946
Which wouldn’t have happened if the Cubans never supported Castro. He wasn’t worth all this suffering.

Cuba under the Castro regime has been one of the poorest and most mismaneged countries in all of Latin America, not functional. It was actually pre-revolutuinary Cuba that was a decently run state, and significantly above it's Latin American peers in most areas. Even in terms of education and healthcare (the 2 things commies always bring up when talking about Cuba), the country was already doing good prior to 1959 (80% literacy rate and more doctors per capita than the UK or Sweden). The real problem was the immense disparity between urbanites and rural laborers, but Che and Castro decided it would be better for everyone to be equally poor.
>>
>>18492668
Castro was pure spanish. His father was born in Northern Spain (Galicia) and his mom was a criolla who descended from Canarian settlers. Not all latinos are the 5'5 aztec and maya goblins that make up the majority of immigrants to the U.S.

America's greatest achievement. Gosh I love to be American sometimes.
>>18492640
I'm sorry America took part in his downfall. It's embarrassing to be American sometimes.
>>
>>18493028
It already is a playground for the wealthy with a destitute underclass, it's just that the wealthy now are the party bureaucracy and the upper echelons of the military instead of american mafiosi. At least back in the days of Batista the urban middle class had a living standard comparable to that of Southern Europe instead of everyone that's not the elite being about almost as poor as the average Haitian.
>>
>>18492883
Good, then have fun being empty 30 years from now, because that's where Cuba is headed.

>he overthrew a kleptocratic government
And replaced it with another kleptocratic one, except this time with kleptocracy plus embargo from the economic superpower just off your coast. Epic wasted life.
