The new weapons needed more maintenance, so instead of repairing the older, more reliable machines, lots of man hours were wasted on the wunderwaffe. They mismanaged their pilots, too. Instead of pulling aces from combat and having them instruct new pilots, they just kept them fighting until they were shot down. This resulted in the new jet planes being flown by amateur pilots.
