Ancient Egyptians spent most of the time barechested and barefoot. Is there any reason why it wouldn’t be comfortable for modern Egyptians to dress the same way?

No need for shoes unless you're walking on a hard surface all the time. Walking on concrete and asphalt hurts your bare feet worse than walking on dirt or mud.
