Are there any other instances of architecture schizophrenia in history? This is basically a McMansion church
>>18495194NO, THAT TEMPLE WOULD BE ANALOGOUS TO A NEOMODERNISTIC ECLECTIC MANOR; AN ANALOGUE TO A MCMANSION WOULD A «MEGACHURCH» PRECINCT.THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY FAMILY IS NOT MY STYLE, BUT I RECOGNIZE ITS BEAUTY; IF YOU CANNOT SEE THAT IT IS BEAUTIFUL, YOU HAVE BAD TASTE.

>>18495261THE TOPIC IS «SCHIZOPATHICAL ARCHITECTURE», NOT SCHIZOPATHICAL INDIVIDUALS, THEREFORE, YOU SHOULD EXIT THIS THREAD; NOONE HAS SUMMONED YOU.
>>18495194Like the /int/ thread you just reposted this from, no it's not bad. Most arguments say it's bad because it's new or gaudy while ignoring St Marks Basilica or any other cathedral.
>>18495270Those are older with history and significantly less gaudy and schizophrenic
>start building cathedral when Spain is catholic >Take forever because you're lazy>by the time you finish Spain is Muslim and atheist
>>18495273In 700 years this will be seen as a classic piece of architecture and it's schizophrenic and excessive style be hailed as positive not a negative.
>>18495194A church dedicated to the Sacred Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph literally looks demonic.
>>18495262Kevin, you're annoying, and I hope your dreams never come true, you bespangled tripfaggot.
>>18495296?THIS IS DEMONIC.
>>18495274>implying they will finish
>>18495296what about this looks demonic to you?
>>18495315You just hate it because Midwestern white people attend it. You're a very transparent racist beaner.
>>18495359Has the same vibe as this half serpent Jesus monstrosity.
>>18495397why do you consider this to be a monstrosity, and jesus doesn't look at all like a serpent in it, what are you on about?
>>18495397WHY DOES INTRINCACY SCARE YOU?
KEk ugly papist shit
Shouldn't the antichrist have better taste?
>>18495399His bottom half is clearly not human. And anyone who looks at it other than a blind Catholic can clearly see something evil and demonic.
>>18495194>Spain is at the absolute height of its power in history at the time between the High Renaissance and Baroque>Philip II decides to build a massive, opulent royal palace >exterior is... le dull plain gray brick and windowsIs Spanish architecture a meme?
>>18495644Very well, you've done your bit of fun (and made a fool of yourself, I'm afraid). Now you can go to a library and try to understand why scholars, architects, structural engineers, and art historians consider it a towering masterpiece of Renaissance architecture and the physical embodiment of the Counter-Reformation. Perhaps then you'll even feel like visiting that austere and sober monastery (I guarantee you'll be literally speechless).
>>18495296your mother finds your face demonic, but still she loves you
>>18495831>towering masterpiece of Renaissance architecture and the physical embodiment of the Counter-Reformation>wouldn't look out of place in a depressing company-owned coal town in YorkshireI thought you med boyfuckers were supposed to be aesthetes
>>18495296Detail is...le demons.
>>18495644Wait till you see his bedroom inside that palace, it was a tiny simple room with a window looking inside the church
>>18495441>the bottom half is clearly not humanit is Christ's death shroud. This sculpture is depicting the resurrection. You call it "evil and demonic" because you have not made any effort to understand the art. The artist who created it made it did so as a statement about man's anguish under the threat of nuclear war. It depicts christ resurrecting above the devastation of an atomic blast.
>>18495644in post-classical maya cities there are many examples of "palaces" that are like something out of a hollywood set where they built an impressive stone facade that would have looked really nice from the front, but nothing else remains of the building, and this is because the buildings themselves were actually just big thatched roof huts with a really fancy front so it looked nice from the street.
>>18495898NTA but there is something unsettling about it. Maybe its just the image though, and it looks way better in person.
All Catholic Churches look demonic btw
>>18495962I am convinced that protestants who believe that something or someone is "demonic" have a regressed mind, like, their mental age is the one of a child.Someone wears intricate makeup? Demons, a building has red lights? Demons, a person is ugly or disfigured? Demons.Just like children, they can't understand the world around them with reason, so they resort to fairy tales instead.
King Ludwig I and his grandson, Ludwig II were obsessed with buildings palaces & castles that they were filling Bavaria with them and in varying architectural styles: Greco-Roman, Gothic, Early medieval, Late Medieval, Baroque, Neoclassical, and Byzantine.Ludwig II was even planning to make an Ottoman and a Chinese style palace before he was (forced) an heroed.
protestants genuinely can't grasp any architectural work that goes beyond picrel

>>18496080This is ugly as shit dude
>>18495253>IF YOU CANNOT SEE THAT IT IS BEAUTIFUL, YOU HAVE BAD TASTEtaste doesn't matter. what matters is sense. The little beauty coming from that thing is due to the gothic model it parodies. For the rest it is a senseless modernist slop that was hyped just for not being traditional.
>>18495397>modernist building>modernist sculptureassured trainwreck
>>18495194This is pretty standard for Cathedrals. They took centuries to build and often passed through the hands of half a dozen architects. Italy in particularly retains a lot of the hodgepodge (Germany lost a ton in WW2). The Milan Cathedral is a bit of a mess of inspirations, styles, and aesthetics, even more so in the past when it was unfinished for 500 years.
>>18495962Its very organic, and organic shapes made out of stone look uncanny.
>>18496083cope
>>18495296looks like fungus
>>18495284No. I hate all jewshit, but would be unwilling to tear down most cathedrals because they are objectively beautiful. I'd tear this down without a second thought. It's an eyesore.
>>18495962It's just ugly. It looks uncanny because it is a rare combination of a high effort medium with a total lack of skill and taste.
Wh*toids itt having an absolute meltdown itt because they can't fathom their aesthetic inferiority and being racially unable to even emulate such beauty, let alone creating it themselves
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googie_architectureThe school of architecture, named after a Southern California coffee shop, was characterized by big signs and modernistic space age design, often used for roadside businesses like motels, fast food and car washes.
it does not look good though
