Tbfair to the man, he had a pulse on the time.

A decade after his failed attempt an officer in the Iranian Army was declared Emperor. As of today, his grandson is trying to take back that throne while the Qajars are somewhere in Switzerland chilling and enjoying their treasure.

About two decades later a minor Albanian noble became President and gave himself a promotion to King.

So what went so wrong?

Almost no one wanted an emperor back and then he went and cucked to japan, completely destroying his reputation
I'm not sure how Albania or Iran were relevant to that

I don't really think he did. It seems like the opposite, desu. All three of those were exceptionally unaware of the time they lived in and struggled through short (relatively short, in the case of Pahlavi's, whose numbers are laughable by monarchy standards) and turbulent regimes until they were replaced.

He failed to read the room completely. Yes he was correct that the Chinese will only follow someone with actual power unlike the """"Republic""""" Sun Yat-sen & his fellow western educated nerds created.

What Yuan failed to realize was that China wanted to MODERNIZE and overthrowing an Emperor to become another one & perpetuate the DYnastic Cycle was not something most Chinese leaders in the 20th century was onboard with.

>he was correct that the Chinese will only follow someone with actual power u
Yet, he had very limited power and was easily brushed aside when other players grew weary of his sperging.
>China wanted to MODERNIZE
Wrong, warlordism was just banditry and warlord's "modernization" was just a larp. Manchuria under Japanese had become far more industrially advanced while the rest of the China was in semi-colonial state of anarchy.

But its the CORRECT kind of LARPING during the time.
