In a very simple sense, someone with high-functioning autism might learn to think before acting, thinking about what other people might think.Of course, this is slightly different since it's kinda about not being able to intuitively do it and having to think about it, but I still think it counts since for most normal people their understanding of other minds does come through intuition and not being able to do that is kind of a deficit.

Also entirely depends on how humble and open minded you are and someone else being kind enough to tell you that you probably have some deficits. It’s definitely a question that keeps me up at night. I think with enough feedback and experience you can look through a mirror dimly and realize something is off and then seek out the truth or try to correct it.
