Is it possible to be self-aware about lacking or having a malformed theory of mind?

your question is racist

If you can't properly answer your pic's question then there's really no hope of any but the dullest self-awareness.
>>
>>18497024
Maybe? People who suffer from total aphantasia seem to be aware that normal people can picture stuff in their brains and they can't, but that still doesn't mean they'll ever know what that's actually like. Or like how blind people understand that they have a disability that other people don't have, but they still will never know what sight actually is.

She looks in the box. Next question

>theory of mind
Anti-autistic hate speech. Only oversocialized tranny redditors make a point of pointing this out. Its perfectly fine to be without one, and putting in the "emotional labor" to understand other people's struggles is a waste of time usually. Especially if they're female.

Sally uses her theory of mind to assume that Anne is being a cunt so she'll look in the box. Sally doesn't have to look. She heard the noise of Anne's agonized screams when her hand got caught in the bear trap left inside the box, which she had planted specifically to punish her should she give in to her ball-hiding nature.

No. You can't see your own blindness. Different radios for different people. Try explaining color to a person born blind. The faculties simply aren't there.

Interesting question, shame that it's clouded with the usual shit that gets posted.
I would lean towards yes. In a very simple sense, someone with high-functioning autism might learn to think before acting, thinking about what other people might think.
Of course, this is slightly different since it's kinda about not being able to intuitively do it and having to think about it, but I still think it counts since for most normal people their understanding of other minds does come through intuition and not being able to do that is kind of a deficit.

Autist here: yes. I have flawed theory of mind but I'm aware of that fact so I try to be humble about my perspective not being the only one. Also I'm gay btw.

In my experience, autists who train themselves to have a proper theory of mind are actually better at reading people since they aren't going by belly feels. Instead, they actually think about other people's perspectives and motivations.

I don't know what this gay shit means but if they don't understand lacan then we can't even begin to speak about anything

The test doesn't have much meaning outside the cohorts of, per IQ measures, mentally retarded autistics who cannot handle language in the first place. Theory of mind depends on language abilities so making cases take the test who's primary disability is linguistic skews results.

You can bridge gaps through alternate or synthetic means. Also entirely depends on how humble and open minded you are and someone else being kind enough to tell you that you probably have some deficits. It’s definitely a question that keeps me up at night. I think with enough feedback and experience you can look through a mirror dimly and realize something is off and then seek out the truth or try to correct it.
