We really shouldn't be using the same term to describe modern Rabbinic Jews as their ancient counterparts, who I believe we should refer to as Judeans for clarity. One group was most-or-less racially homogeneous, the other heterogeneous. One was localized, the other global. Culture and religious practice varied substantially as well. Equating the two groups would be like saying a random South American is a conquistador, a random Sardinian a citizen of Ancient Rome, a random Chinese is a Mongolian steppe-dweller, etc.

Even if we drop the question of blame for killing Christ, and assume, for the sake of argument, a perfect identity with modern and ancient groups, that in no way gives a "birthright" to the region of Palestine. That would be like an Irish American deciding that Ireland actually belongs to his own people, and deciding he is entitled to killing and stealing from the people who currently live there.
