Why does the nationality identity of so many countries in the world revolve around seething about the bongs buckbreaking them 200 years ago?
Pretty much the single greatest justification for nationalism is a common enemy, which for pretty much the entire third world was whatever nation colonized them. Britain had the largest empire and therefore become the foundational enemy of dozens and dozens of nations. In regards to China, Japan is as big if not moreso a bogeyman to the Chinese than England. They were also massively paranoid about the Soviets throughout most of the 60s and 70s. In fact Maoist China made an enemy of more or less the entire world for a little while. During the cultural revolution they may have been the biggest pariah state ever. So singling out England as their main seethe target is kind of odd. It did become relevant recently when anti-British sentiment was used to justify action in Hong Kong.

An extremely poor and also isolated nation of 5 million people on a different continent. They continued to support North Vietnam to compete with the Soviets, but the North Vietnamese by this point were already Soviet aligned and just using for extra support. They also had a complicated relationship with Pakistan, who were American aligned but were useful as a counterbalance to India. Aside from that the only friendly relations China had were with Maoist revolutionary groups in the third world and college students in Europe. This tremendous isolation was what led them to panic about the threat of Soviet invasion to the extent that they reached out to the United States for security cooperation.

They continued limited trade with various third world and eastern bloc nations but diplomatically they were fucked and none of these nations were likely to have supported China in anything beyond what was immediately financially beneficial to them.
