In 1964, California put up a ballot measure called Proposition 14. This measure amended the state constitution to allow private entities to refuse selling property to anyone they wish, including on racial grounds. This came after lobbying from real estate agencies that claimed prices were collapsing due to migration of southern blacks into californian cities.

Proposition 14 passed with 65% of voters voting yes, and 35% voting no. However, despite overwhelming support from state residents, president lyndon b johnson cut off all federal funding from california, and mass looting riots broke out from the black minority population. Only a few years later, the state supreme court struck down the proposition as unconstitutional, despite it passing with voter support.

Many historians feel that had the amendment stayed, california would not have been the diverse melting pot is it today

>democracy is a sham
wow youd think people would have figured this out.
democracy and republicanism, liberalism, its from failed states like the French Commune and Athens, these are failed states who failed by their own merits, they didnt even need to be conquered to become failed states.

Access to White people is not a human right.

>president lyndon b johnson cut off all federal funding from california, and
California generally voted Republican in presidential elections back then so he didn't really have to care about losing their votes.

no serious historian says this, California is literally former Mexican territory. You really think it's surprising that there are a lot of Mexicans in cities with names like San Fransisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, San Diego, San Jose, San Bernardino, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, San Juan Capistrano, San Luis Obispo, El Centro, Costa Mesa, Laguna, San Clemente, La Mesa, Pasadena, Alhambra, Los Alamitos, Rancho Palos Verdes, Santa Clarita, Cupertino, Santa Maria, Santa Cruz, Modesto, Montebello, Santa Rosa, and Fresno to name a few? There's always been some Mexican presence in California anon, some from before it even became a state in fact, and there was never going to be a way to deport them all as a result whether you like it or not.

You sound like a psycho.
Fucking over other people who are also full American citizens due to a shitty vote is stupid.

Yet racist white people want to force nonracist white people to around them and not around nonwhites.

Why do all white racists demand this though? Why do they think they have a right to control nonracist white people?

There were only around 7 thousand mexican citizens living in the entirety of the state of California in 1848, the area back then was mostly populated by non-assimilated natives that held allegiance neither no mexico or to the u.s. after the gold rush and until the 70s california was 90% non-hispanic White, and today almost the entirety of mexicans living in california have no relation to the tiny population of mexican citizens who lived there before the mexican-american war. Saying that mexicans from present day Mexico have a right to live in California today because the territory was technically under the control of Mexico almost 200 years ago is just as insane as claiming Russians from Moscow or St. Petersburg have a right to claim residence in Alaska because it belonged to the Russian state before 1867.

California was a swing state with a slight red tint, but it was not a state democrats had no chance to win like Utah or Idaho. In fact, Nixon barely won Cali in 1960 and 1968 despite being a California native, and the state trended blue from 1980 to 1984, before the mass amnesty of 3 million illegals. LBJ just didn't care about the potential electoral repercussions of a move like this (I mean, his popularity was already cratering because of Vietnam, so it wasn't like this would make much of a difference).

I need to keep out of trouble and wherever there's a large number of BIPOCs there's trouble. If you don't like it, maybe you can have a word with them.

>Why do they think they have a right to control nonracist white people?
No one's trying to control "nonracist white people". You're the ones forcing people to make sandwiches for coloreds.

that's for the good of the child, mixed race people are mental cases with near-insurmountable identity hangups
>>
>>18502686
They should simply sue racists in civil court for giving them those identity hangups then, problem solved.

>There were only around 7 thousand mexican citizens living in the entirety of the state of California in 1848
Even if that's accurate, that's still an entire 7% of the overall population in 1848. California was never 100% white in its entire existence anon, let it go.

>Many historians feel that had the amendment stayed, california would not have been the diverse melting pot is it today
Serious doubt
It would've been a dead letter overridden by federal law, whatever the California supreme court said. The same feds who were desegregating the south against massive resistance weren't gonna let that kind of thing slide in California.
