Is this the biggest chokejob in recent history? How the FUCK do you manage to lose this war?
>inb4 some coping greek claims the brits betrayed them
Literally the most philhellene government at the time.
>>
Other than WW2, where they were heroic, Greeks seem to be utter shit at war. Its usually them starting a war, losing and then blaming someone else for the loss.
>>
>>18502988
Ataturk happened

>How the FUCK do you manage to lose this war?
Greece is not industrialized, their military was not even partially mechanized, and they were conducting offensive operations on foreign soil, over a body of water, against a culturally and linguistically distinct ad unified people.

I doubt it could have gone any other way. Their sole saving grace was that the Turks came out of WW1 a disorganized mess. Without the great powers treating Greece as a 1st rate ally and the theater as a primary conflict worthy of their full and undivided attention it was only a matter of time before the logistics failed and with it the campaign.
>>
>>18502988
Bolsheviks heavily supported Turks. Played a huge part in Megali Idea failure.
>>
>>18502988
When it's about Greeks and potential historical success, the reason for failure is ALWAYS betrayal. The Greeks were retroactively punished for oppressing the Mani, who are badass bloodfeuding Gigachads, who are responsible for Greece being an independent country today. But when the Greeks stabbed them in the back, they incured a great curse.
>>
>>18502988
>try to invade a country six times your size
>overextend your forces like hell, creating a massive salient you can't realistically hold or even adequately man, in a doomed attempt to take the enemy capital
If they stuck to coastal strongholds with a lot of Greeks maybe they'd be able to get the Turks to accept it. Greece outdone by hubris lmao
>>
>>18502988
They got greedy. If they turtled in Ionia chances are they could had received other costalal areas from the bongs and the italians, both quickly to find out their new anatolian lands were a burden to get rid off
>>
>>18503143
bolsheviks would regret this later when turks went on to suck americock
>>
>>18502996
ataturk didn't make the greeks wait a whole year without attacking an hour's drive from ankara.
>>
>>18502988
>Is this the biggest chokejob in recent history?
It's probably the 6-day War on the Arab side, followed by the 2-decade American fiasco in Afghanistan.
>>
>>18502988
Ataturk played this very smartly. He let the Gayreeks think they were winning drawing them farther inland. When he launched his counterattack, there were reports of Greek soldiers trying to swim to the islands to escape.
>>
>>18503728
To this day the most popular banter phrase for turks against greeks is "swimming lessons".
They not only started and lost this war, they did so in most humiliating fashion. If it wasnt for disaster following the greeks in the coming decades after this war it would be traumatic to this day
>>
>>18502988
Assuming this isn't /int/ bait
>greeks were poorly equiped and heavily fatigued
>Turks were getting officers, food and weapon shipments from French and Italy, later Russia joined too while Greeks got jack shit from Britain
>Britain did in fact sabotage Greeks by forcing them to stay put for almost a year since muslim jeets were throwing a melty and pressuring Britain, which sealed their fate
>Britain had zero intention to help Greeks in the first place and only cared about the mosul oil fields, the moment they got them they discarded Greeks like a used rag
>bonus points for Americans running pro-Turkish propaganda in exchange for monetary concessions
The Turks were saved by the Western powers, like many other times thoroughout their existence.

The reekjeet delusions and inversions of reality are amusing to read. A parasitic rat state whose entire existance since the despotate of cuckstantinople know as byzantium can be resumed by begging gibs and military support to westoids calling Turks who fought on their own western backed is hilarious

Also Greek "kings" died from a monkey bite. Leading political considerations setback.

They betrayed their real king and his wife, so karma's coming for them.
>>
>>18504124
The Ottoman empire was propped by western powers against Russia for a third of it's existence, buckbroken jeet. Without their support there would be no Turkey today.
>>

Turks had Italian and Soviet support and the French changed sides. Dumb paki.

Why does Streicher look like that? Wouldn't it have been better to include Speer instead of him? Kind of ruins the picture. Also source?

This reads like a bitter greek or helleneophile projecting. Greeks lost because of their typical arrogance and retarded strategy.
>>
>>18504141
Nice cope lmao. Western powers were the Ottomans main rival power long before Russia became relevant. Matter of fact a lot of their “victories” came because the Ottomans were fighting them simultaneously and prioritized fighting western powers instead
>>
>>18504962
Geopolitical factors are not strategy.
>>18504968
Only the Hapsburgs could be considered their enemies, French and British were their allies even up to the early 19th century. They even offered to crush the Greek revolution in the place of Turks.
>>
>>18502988
>We will be greeted as liberators by our bretheren!
>... Wtf where's all the Greeks? It's all Turks here!
When you start believing your own bullshit.
>>
And today Greeks look at this blatant war of aggression as a heroic effort to liberate their people. (They killed every GREEK who refused to rat out turkish civilians hiding and when the war was lost burnt down all the villages and lifestock they claimed to want to liberate)
>evil tork barbar had audacity to fight back against wholesome philosopher hellenes :(

Don't expect honesty, morals and single standards from reeks and other judeochristians, the only way to combat them is mocking them and exposing their sick behavior and beliefs
>>
>>18502988
This was a catastrophe. Lost Ionia, historically one of the most important Greek lands to try to take Constantinople that was not possible demographically. Overall, just a disaster. Fuck the communists as well.
>>
>>18505063
Reeks have no place in Anatolia, glad Ataturk gave these vermin swimming lessons

>Only the Hapsburgs could be considered their enemies, French and British were their allies even up to the early 19th century. They even offered to crush the Greek revolution in the place of Turks.
Well yeah Habsburg were the only important western power at the time, England was irrelevant and the relationship with France was more like a non-aggression pact rather than an alliance. The only time they helped the Ottomans was during the Crimean War and russoids got crushed so hard they still seethe about it despite a lot of their victories happening simply because Ottomans were busy fighting the west and couldn’t bother wasting resources on fighting a shithole like russia

Indeed, driving deep in mountainous Anatolia (which was full of Turks) with WWI level logistics, was retarded.
>>
>>18503219
Turkey was at one of the lowest points in its history. It had lost World War I and its empire, revolts from various everywhere by various minority groups, half of Anatolia including Constantinople occupied and divided by the winning powers.
The comeback was incredible. It could easily have remained a small emirate in central Anatolia, as insignificant as any random secont rate middleeastern country.
