Redpill me on the KKK. Did they really go around attacking black people for no reason or is there more to the story?
>>
Their reason for forming was terror so yes that's pretty much all there was to it.
>>
>>18503006
> for no reason
They were often motivated by accusations ranging from race mixing to actual crimes like cattle theft. Of course, they'd also attack a nig if they felt disrespected or whatever.

is it true joseph r biden was a part of it in his youth
>>
>>18503006
They lynched 8,000 people across 100 years. 75% of the victims were black. Blacks typically kill around 11,000 blacks yearly
>>
>>18503041
A lot of the targets were people seen as rising above their station or "uppity", enforcing social hierarchy was a big part of their raison d'etre. The first klan killed blacks for voting or running for office.

>>18503006
>Did they really go around attacking black people for no reason
You're wrong, they specifically attacked them for being black.
>>
>>18503006
The second Klan (1910s-1930s) was primarily a midwestern organisation focussed on being anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant.
>>
>>18503006
There were 3 versions of the KKK.
>original 1860s-1930s
Basically a paramilitary group that carried out a guerilla warfare campaign in the countryside. They didn't just target blacks. They were fervently anti Catholic and aligned themselves strictly with the inter-white exclusionary view of outsiders that the Founders held. They were basically revanchists who hated the union more than anything else.
>1950s-1980s
These guys were basically just a collection of racist southerners who hated the CRA. They dropped a lot of the hate for European migrants and the US although some still held onto the protestant-only view of American culture.
>modern
Just a club for old boomers. Most of them are federal agents investigating each other without even realizing it.
>>18503043
Most old career poltiivans were aligned with the KKK or it's associated in some form because they do not care who "donates" money to their political campaign. The only real card carrying Klansmen in government were mainly the ones in the South and usually in local government rather than federal.
>>18503147
I think it's largely understated how much violence was carried out against "scalawags" and other white southerners who aligned with the union during the war.

what denomination of Christianity is this?
>>
>>18503185
Your comment is cope, OP asked why they did it not who they did it too or how many times they were founded and refunded. They already had the law on their side the only reason they took that imagery and attacked who they attacked was to spread terror they were domestic terrorists to a t.
>>
>>18503241
terror is never "mindless", anon, don't mistake the tactic for the goal
You're opposed to the KKK's political goals (and I am too, don't get me wrong) but don't let your moral antagonism get in the way of understanding the past.
There were three separate organizations which used the name, with separate but overlapping goals.
>>

>Blacks typically kill around 11,000 blacks yearly
Is that from the same year as the KKK killings or is that a recent number?
>>
They were a community of peace loving men who met up to participate in intellectual exchanges and cultural activies. They only lynched people in self defense.
>>
>>18503159
The original klan died out pretty fast after the civil war. The second klan was founded during WW1.

>what denomination of Christianity is this?
answer please
>>
Original Klan and other similar groups were guerrilla fighters against Reconstruction and did a lot of violence against blacks and whites who supported civil rights. They were crushed by the Federal government but largely achieved their goals in disenfranchising black voters and restoring white rule.
Klan 2.0 was a LARP based on the film about the original Klan, Birth of a Nation, and though they held massive rallies and wielded significant political power, especially in the Midwest, they were more about intimidation than actual violence. They became a pyramid scheme selling titles and Klan gear, then collapsed in sex scandals and corruption. Compared to contemporary street fighting Eurofascists they were a bunch of dopey middle American squares doing cosplay.
Later Klan iterations were closer to the original, based mostly in the South and doing actual killings, though they were full of Feds and bickering factions, easily squashed and a relic of the past once some degree of modernity came to the South.

The original KKK didn't care about Catholicism and disbanded in the 1870s after being subjected to federal investigations. The second KKK was the one that formed in the 1910s after Birth of a Nation, with no continuity, They were the ones who were obsessed with Catholics. You're conflating multiple different things and time periods without any idea of what you're talking about.
