Kind of insane that a random bronze age cult ended up spawning spinoff cults that now dominate the world.
>>18506424Not really. They were some of the few literate people at the time so it makes sense that their ideas survived.
It was the perineum age
>>18506424The Bible is IRON age. This is major thing because the entire reason they escaped Egypt was because Egypt suffered the Bronze Age collapseThe reason why the Pharaoh was so oppressive was because slaves all throughout the empire were revolting and if he enact an oppressive rule, people might think he is weak and cause even more revolts
>>18506424>randomthere's nothing random about it.
>>18506433Judaism is nonsense. There is no evidence of a complete Torah existing prior to the 5th century AUC (after of the founding of the city [of Rome]).The Exodus myth was written as a polemic against Manetho, not the other way around (again, no complete Torah prior to the 5th century AUC).Manetho was citing earlier sources and he has been proven correct by history. He was writing about the Shasu and his ONLY mistake was confusing them with the Hyksos. The Shasu were a group of nomads from the southern Levant who worshipped Yahweh and would later contribute to the ethnogenesis of the Jews. They were considered a nuance due to their tendency to raiding and at some point in the late Bronze Age, they nearly succeeded in plundering Egypt but got their asses kicked and expelled. Manetho wrote this in his Aegyptiaca (though admittedly he did confuse the Shasu with Hyksos) and the Jews, being mad that people remember their humiliation by the hands of Egypt, wrote the story of Exodus in response.Only those with a mental illness and leprosy would deny any of this.
>>18506433>they escaped egypt>The reason why the Pharaoh was so oppressiveThere is ZERO historical and archeological evidence for the exodus. Grow up and start questioning the myths you blindly believe in.
>>18506424I feel like the ancient near east were past and prologue to everything especially when the greeks get there later on, dan carlin talks about xenophon’s persian expedition finding the ruins of assur deserted from a battle one or two hundred years in the past all the history about the meads and babylonians at the beginning to recorded history or something like that
>>18506424It makes more sense if you see it as an intellectual movement towards monotheism which was occurring even in pagan societies. Plato's form of the Good manifesting in different Gods is essentially monotheistic, hence the frictionless integration of the Greeks into the Christian canon.

>>18507833it’s why Christianity made so much sensethere was already a conception amongst many philosophers and cultures of the absolute/the one/the eternal god that precedes all other existence. Christianity just said that this God became man in order to reconcile man’s broken nature to him.
>>18506424>Kind of insane that a random bronze age cult ended up spawning spinoff cults that now dominate the world.Yes, that is unironically insane when you think about it. Just goes to show you how dangerous the jews are if you do not deal with them swiftly.
>>18507833>>18507840Nope, the Platonic one was not a god or a supreme being but the the mere form of good and doesn't have a will of it's ownThe gods in platonism were still separate beings from the one and worshiped in their own merits, not merely viewed messengers or agents of Gods will like angel are in Judaism
Why don't the Assyrians just start genociding people again? I want to see someone Ashurbanipal the shit out of Arabs.
>>18507948Arabs buck broke then aeons ago, they're brainwashed and will never do shit again.

>>18507840>Christianity just said that this God became man in order to reconcile man’s broken nature to him. Also to resolve the classic philosophical problem of "The One and the Many". Jesus fixed that so well philosophy basically died for 1000 years while theology took the top spot.
