Has YOUR country ever had an Emperor?

As in, a ruler of most/all of what is considered your national territory who is referred to as "Emperor of [your country]" as opposed to your country falling under the territory of another Emperor (aka, the Germans have had an Emperor but not the Poles, despite once being ruled by Germany's Emperor)

The main countries I can think of are:
>France
>India
>Germany
>Brazil
Where else? Criterea I guess would be:
>have to have controlled most if not all of what's considered your national territory
>has to be referred to has emperor in historical documents or foreign correspondance (no self-proclaimed meme emperors)

Albania. Romans came from Albania. Troy was in Albania. Aeneas was an Albanian. Same with the Macedonian Empire that ruled over Asia. The Macedonians were Albanians, Alexander was an Albanian.

Wrong but perfect example of what I meant in the OP.

There has never been an "Emperor of Albania." That's what I'm looking for, countries that have explicitly been an Empire via having an Emperor, rather than just places Emperors have runed/been from.

What about countries like the US and UK that are/were empires but have never had an official emperor title? I wonder what terminology historians will use.

Probably just what they do now. Not Imperial, but Imperialist.

The UK is a funny example because there has never been an Emperor of the British Empire, only an Emperor of India.

That's where you're wrong, kiddo

Ireland has Brian Boru who was referred to as Emperor of the Gaels after he united the island, around the end of the 10th Century.
>>
Yes, if you consider padishah to be equivalent to emperor

Yes. The traditional ruler and head of state of Germany was always simultaneously an Emperor and a king. That was even true for the Second German Reich, because our Emperor was also the Prussian king, which is an interesting intentional continuity to how it worked in the HRE.

I'm a Croat, and the Habsburgs held the titles of king of Croatia while being Holy Roman and later Austrian Kaisers, so we did technically have some emperors.

>forgetting the only country today that still has an Emperor
Anyways it's a fucking meme title
The Kings of France and Spain had more power than any gay Emperor of their time

The Bohemian kings Karel IV., Václav IV. and Zikmund were HRE emperors. It's a shame that Václav IV. was a drunk retard. And there were the Habsburgs of course.
>>
Yes the Mughal Padishahs

Julius Nepos

Kinda? We share him with the Germans, though he drowned before he could be formally crowned.
