What do you think Proto Germanic sounded like? Would they recognize English as a human language?
I think English is a human language of dental fricative speech.
What about Proto Germanic?

More like English than any other Germanic language. English retains several phonemes that were almost certainly a feature of Proto-Germanic but now either lost in other Germanic languages or not used in combination, such as w, θ and ð.

You probably would have better success on /lit/ than here, even though this is the more correct place for it topic-wise, and maybe would be moved here as a result. I don't know about this topic to comment but it's interesting so take a bump.

Between Castilian Spanish and Icelandic. Pay attention to the retracted /s/ sound and the way Spanish speakers say /b/, /g/, /g/ as [β, ð, ɣ]

hum.... with all those technical words coming from the superior celtic civilizaztion, it would probably sound a bit gaulish

This makes little sense given there is barely anything Frankish about 'Francais', and that the Old Frankish that gave it its name was mutually intelligible with Old English
>>
>>18509971
>"Old frankish"
a modern invention. Literraly no proof it actually exists.

"The Old Frankish language is poorly attested and mostly reconstructed from Frankish loanwords in Old French, and from Old Dutch, as recorded in the 6th to 12th centuries. "
>>
Atempts at reconstructing Proto-germanic or IE always reeks of trashy fantasy slop writing.

>Se wisa wer timbrode his hus ofer stan.
>Þa com þær micel flod, and þær bleowon windas, and ahruron on þæt hus, and hit ne feoll: soþlice, hit wæs ofer stan getimbrod.
>Þa timbrode se dysiga wer his hus ofer sandceosol. Þa rinde hit, and þær com flod, and bleowon windas, and ahruron on þæt hus, and þæt hus feoll; and his hryre wæs micel.
Old English is fine.
>Heima letia ec munda Heriafꜹðr i gꜹrðom goða; þviat engi iotvn ec hvgða iafnramman sem Vafðrvðni vera.“
Old norse is fine too.

Then reconstructions of Germanic and PIE come along and it's like I'm reading some greater gross germany retard's fictional gibberish.

You can follow along and hear the sing-songy cadence of future English or Scandinavian. Then you get >>18508436 that drivel. It might be the overabundance of Z and the overabundance of accent symbols, or it's the distance where Old norse and old english is vaguely ancestral while this shit might as well be bantu click-click tongue noises.
