>See a majestic and mostly peaceful creature irradiating endless beauty as a true testament to God's creation/nature's will and elegance on the sprawling open sea
>Immediatly decide to throw endless harpoons at it, butcher all of it's remains, tear it apart bit by bit and bask on its blood
>Use the blubber for some arsenine shit like lighting up a lamp in a shawty irish bar
Why did we do it?
>>
>it's a fundie arguing against killing animals
not even a christian but even i know the bible says god gave man dominion over the animals to eat
>>
>>18509110
The Bible is also openly against needless violence against them for rituals and such. You dont need to be a tree hugging vegetarian hippie to believe killing/abusing peaceful animals who are minding their own business for no valid reason is bad and cruel

Genesis 9:1-2
>Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
Whales aren't fish.
>>
>>18509122
>The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth
Do honey badgers disprove the bible?
>>
>>18509110
Only after the Flood; for thousands of years after the original creation eating meat was a sin, and Isaiah prophesies a time is coming without animal violence.
>>
Has always been that way, it is human nature to want to control and explout resources. At least we still have the whales. Every single land animal that exists was successfully hunted by literal cavemen, and many magnificent animals were hunted to extinction by them, leaving the world a greatly diminished place compared to what it once was.
>>
>>18509124
Yes, American badgers too

This is obviously talking about every living thing exhaustively.
>>
>>18509121
>no valid reason
They use the whale meat, blubber, and oil you retard. They don't just trophy hunt fucking whales because they can.
>>
>>18509158
>They don't just trophy hunt fucking whales because they can.
There's still whale hunting in the modern world where most people have acess to all the meat they could possibly wish for and more efficient alternatives have been found in comparison to blubber and oil. In fact countries like Norway and Japan argue it should be legal because it's part of their cultural traditions rather than being of any practical market use. Its wildely just a trophy hunting thing
>>
>>18509169
So you are saying when they hunt whales they don't use any of the whale for use? They kill it and let it go?
>>
>>18509169
Entirely irrelevant if they still use the whale body for a purpose since it isn't going to waste.

Humans are the great plague of nature sent by the demiugre to corrupt all of the innocent fauna for tens of thousands of years they endeavored to destroy everything in a non sustainable fashion, so that these dumb and relentless beasts of evil wipe themselves out out of sheer lust for evil.
In their great selfishness they usurpated creation and pretended it was made for them, like any villanous fantasy race...
Its about time nature shows them a lesson, massacres them by the billion, then lend a forgiving hand, for those few humans who seek peace and unity, because she is the emanation of pure love, so much so that she can love the most unlovable creature in all existence. Just like how the jews were made the chosen people on account of being the worst of the worst humanity has to offer

>By that logic I can kick a baby kitten to death in the street and as long as I take some of her teeth to make cool ornaments on an earring everything I did was just. Having a reason to do something doesnt mean it's a valid reason
Proverbs 12:10
>A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
If one is truly righteous his kindness extends beyond what is asked of him morally. He doesnt look for loopholes where violence can be accepted and delighted on and quits when he notices even animals are suffering a bit too much for all is within His creation. It's fine to kill a chicken with a rough slide at the neck to eat it for later but carrying around trophies after letting an animal's guts bleed out into the sea floor is far too exagerated a gesture

>"""it is human nature to want to control and explout resources"""
>europeans
>human
>>
>>18509218
I've seen plenty of japanese faggots use this kind of rhetoric in any news regarding these savages murdering whales. Right now youre the ones doing the murder you fucking soulless gook now that the anime spell has been lifted from me many years ago I can see you for what you are a corrupt cruel country with no transparency and decent living conditions, an entitled aging pop that preys on the young and a social order that prevents deep human connection.
Evil japs at it again baka
>>
>>18509121
>against them for rituals and such
This nigga never read any of the Pentateuch.
>>
>>18509109
>Why did we do it?
For meat, research, etc, same reason why we kill other true testament to God's creation/nature's will
>>
>>18509109
>>18509121
God literally made killing an inherent part of life
All living organism survive by killing and cannibalizing energy out of other living organism
Blame G*d
>>
>>18509110
Where in the fuck does "dominion over beasts" mean "inflict whatever wanton cruelty you want upon the natural world"????
Isnt dominion a form of stewardship? a noblesse oblige lies with man over the beasts.
>>
>>18509218
The japanese, koreans and chinese did it too. It's even legal in Japan to this very day

Is the reproductive cycle of the Cuckoo bird cruel?
Is the reproductive cycle of praying mantises cruel?
How many species survive through cannibalism or rape?
>>
>>18509146
then why doesn't it say that?
>>
>>18509218
the megafauna were wiped out by cavemen before modern europeans were even a thing
>>
>>18509158
in the single whale hunting season of 1957-58 when factory whaling ships were introduced, the Soviet whaling fleet killed more than half of all whales in the world
>>
>>18509211
Whales are domesticated?
>kicking a baby
Except it is inherently different since that is a human and thus superior than a mere animal.
>>
>>18509555
>communism is evil
Yes and?
>>
>>18509169
true of contemporary whaling but historic whaling was very much for practical reasons
people didn't always have (or know how to use) petroleum
>>
>>18509218
>My chihuaha whom I fed taco scraps every day was given diabetes by los blancos o algo
>>
>>18509544
False equivalence. Those behaviours do not disrupt ecosystems unless the animals behind them are invasive, which is also a consequence of human (in)action.
>>
>>18509548
fowl = all flying vertebrates
fish = all obligate aquatic vertebrates
creeping things = invertebrates

second, the linguistic distinction between "fish" and "whale" didn't exist in hebrew. it DOES in Greek though, and in the Gospels, the "fish" that swallowed Jonah is called a "whale" (ketos) in Greek.
>>
>>18509548
Because it describes every living creature.
>>
>>18509703
>Whales are domesticated?
The meaning behind the passage aint exclusive to domesticated animals. A best of burden is purely the example it gives
>Except it is inherently different since that is a human and thus superior than a mere animal.
I was talking about baby cats anon...
>>
>>18510596
So how is hunting the exact same thing as torture again? If it is done humanely why does it matter? Don't tell me you are one of those fags that thinks all meat is murder
>>
>>18511265
Usually in farms pain is minimized for a variety of reasons, more so practical than ethical because apparently the cow being too anxious before it dies makes the quality of it's meat worse
But usually when it comes to hunting it's one shot and it's done, specially with ducks and such which I have done before. But something about seeing this big mammal cry and wiggle around on the sea as it's pierced by 17 different harpoons and it still not being dead and just slowly bleeding out does come across as disturbing to anyone with a minimun amount of respect for marine life
>>
>>18511398
What about fishing? Is that also inhumane since it involves hooks?

They usually die quickly so nah, not much suffering involved. Specially nets or those big cages too...
>>
>>18509336
>Isnt dominion a form of stewardship?
No, dominion is dominion.
>>
>>18509109
>Why did we do it?
You just said so, blubber.
There's also meat and other things it can be used for.
