First crusade - success
Second - failure
Third - stalemate
Fourth -massive derailment
Fifth - stalemate
Sixth - success
Seventh - derailment
Eight - derailment
Ninth - failure
10th - derailment to the point of abandonment

This didn't seem like a particularly terrible, "first colonialism". The brutality of the first five crusades mostly boils down to the colossal amount of disorganized peoples wandering without supply or support that drove the crusaders to both attack other christians and literally cannibalize the muslims. Otherwise the christian kingdoms did not have any technological or tactical advantage, wich, as the enthusiasm waned, resulted in the obvious inviability of the crusader states

Protozionism was the goal
That they failed is another matter

There was already a Crusades thread up btw

Just because they weren't very succesful (or brutal) does not mean they didn't have the germ of future colonialism in them. You also omitted the northern crusades and the Iberian Reconquista, which is unwise.
Oh, and the fourth crusade led directly to the colonization (if you want to call it that) of the former byzantine empire (and subsequently the black sea), as derailed from its original objectives as it might've been.

P.S: I resent that all the diparate European heresies like the Bosnians, Cathars, Waldenses, and whatever those bit in germany are supposed to be (if you know, please tell me!) are classified as 'Paulicians'. That's complete nonsense.

>Fourth -massive derailment
And success, Greekoids deserved all of it

>le early colonialism
Moronic anachronism based entirely on 19th & 20th century projection, refer to any primary source and note the scarcity of references to material gain as they took over probably the second richest part of the world they'd ever been to, and note that the vast majority of crusaders lost massive amounts of money just attending (and more fighting), after which they went home even after winning the first

Greeks really want to be the Irish of the East, Irish themselves being the white third worldists

The Crusades were just standard warfare in the name of conquest and never limited themselves to just Palestine, you inbred mujeet.
