So Adam and Eve did Original sin right?

And Christ (god) dies on the cross to absolve everyone of their sins and in particular this sin.

But I can't get my head around the problem that I didn't do the sin. And Christ dying doesn't make anyone that does sins, not do sins. They still do sins. They didn't not do the sin because Christ died. And people that didn't do the sin are getting absolved of what?

What is with all of this?

So people that committed a sin are guilty, which I get, but people that didn't are also guilty?

Am I missing something?

it doesn't make sense anymore because the way they explain it now is wrong, and if you explain it correctly they'll call you a racist.

It's nonsensical to imagine you inherit the guilt for the sin adam committed. you actually inherit the guilt for all the sins you, personally, commit. it's just that, the reason you don't live in eden anymore is because of adam, and you, being his biological descendant, inherit his tendency to sin.

>The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

Symbolically, think about it, what was the sin? There was two parts to it, part one is that the sin was disobeying God. But, what was the second part? Part two was eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That's a pretty specific name for a tree. What happens after they ate from the tree (the sin)? Well, the first thing they realize is that they are naked and being naked is wrong, this implies that they didn't think being naked was wrong before eating from the tree. And they had no concept of right and wrong. So did they do anything wrong if they had no concept of right and wrong? In a way, yes, by disobeying God. But if they had no concept of right and wrong, I suppose it's more forgivable than someone who had a concept right. So why does God punish them for it? Could this be a metaphor for the burden of having knowledge? What's the main difference between man and animal? Well, man is smarter and knows about justice, but animals don't. Was that an accident? Maybe. Because man suffers due to having this knowledge. In a way, the knowledge is a burden, the punishment was to work the land, right? We wouldn't know how to work the land if we didn't have the knowledge, we would be like the animals just eating whatever we saw. So in a way, the original sin basically means humans becoming human, and not like the mindless beasts. So what did Jesus dying have to do with any of that? Jesus was the most moral person in the Bible, his overall message was just, be good to everyone, and don't worry too much, and believe in me and follow my example. What was his example? He taught people to leave their homes, their wealth, to have faith. And in what way did he die? He did not go out with a fight, but in silence. He forgave his enemies, and he let them hurt him. He was telling us to forget the world and trust in god, this is what animals have that we don't have. The original sin was becoming worldly, and the cure is serving god and not worrying about the world lol.

>but animals don't.
Some do though

But they didn't eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil though so how can they have the knowledge of good and evil then? To be fair it doesn't actually say anything about animals explicitly it just says humans used to not know good and evil and now they do, but it never mentions animals eating from the tree lol.

No, Adam's punishment for his original sin is applied to everyone who descends from him because his guilt is imputed to them as they were in his thigh so to speak.

There are personal sins you commit that Adam is not held responsible for, and neither are other descendants of Adam.
But Adam's original sin is the reason people die and women give birth in pain.

Christ died for this sin, which previously bound the whole world to death.
You are quoting from the Mosaic law, which had its own death penalty for things Israelites in particular were bound to forbid, unrelated to the natural penalty of death which is the consequence of Adam's original sin and applies not just to Israel but the whole world.

Basically, the death penalty *under the law of Moses* does not condemn a son for what his father does.
This does not apply to Adam, for whose sin all men incur the punishment of death. It is this condition which Christ came to remediate, so that man might be returned to the state he was with God in the Garden as Adam, walking side by side. That eternal life might be had through him. Baptism washes away not only personal sins, but this original sin too.

Christ is also given judgement over the whole world.
He guarantees to respect baptism as the ordinary means of grace, but he can indeed forgive anyone of what Adam did regardless of whether or not they ever had the opportunity to be baptized.

>forget the world and trust in god, this is what animals have that we don't have

Haha yeah Jesus wants you to be more like a pig bro.
that's the true way, just eat everything in front of you without discrimination
lmao no

Humans have something animals don't. That's why their current state is so bad.

>we didn't have the knowledge, we would be like the animals
nope, God gave Adam dominion over the animals and the ability to name them before he ever disobeyed

>naked
This is a Hebrew play on words that means cunning, like the snake is cunning.
Its also the word translated in proverbs 14:15 as prudent or sensible.

>his guilt is imputed to them as they were in his thigh so to speak.
But they didn't do it though.
