How do you bros *feel* about the realization that without the Carolingian era and the Italian Renaissance that we would likely be illiterate subsistence farmers squabbling over patches of dirt instead of highly literate landless debt cattle with an artificially constructed subsistence lifestyle? Lately (last 10 years of my life) I've been thinking about it and I don't care for it. The grug world of old with big iron swords would have suited me slightly better.
