While fertility/female symbolism was common, archaeological evidence has since shown that Old Europeans had more diverse religious symbols than previously thought, including men and animals. There’s no evidence of a consistent mother goddess analogous to the PIE sky father. PIEs brought a more structured pantheon with hierarchy and an emphasis on a sovereign male dirty.
