Why does God get mad at sin just to forgive it? Is he some sort of freak?
>>
>>18527311
There is a strange misconception floating around that it is possible to give someone forgiveness who doesn't want it. In other words, a person must want forgiveness to be forgiven, and you can not forgive someone who does not want to be forgiven.
>>
>>18527314
You mean the strange misconception is that it isn't possible, not that is is.
>>
>>18527311
forgiveness is less common than people wish

THE QUESTION IS, RATHER: WHY WOULD GOD APPROVE OF YOUR SINFUL ACTS?

IF YOU COMMIT A SINFUL ACT, AND, LATER, YOU RECOGNIZE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, YOU REPENT, YOU CONFESS THE ACT, AND MAKE PENANCE FOR IT, GOD FORGIVES YOU, JUST AS A FATHER WOULD FORGIVE HIS CHILD AFTER DOING SOMETHING BAD, AND FOR WHICH HE REPENTS.

YOU SHOULD STRIVE NOT TO SIN, RATHER THAN TO REPROACH GOD FOR «GETTING MAD AND FORGIVING YOU», WHICH MAKES NO SENSE TO REPROACH GOD FOR THAT.

God has borderline personality disorder which is why he's constantly judging every little thing you do and making you walk on eggshells to avoid him lashing out and throwing a tantrum.

>You mean the strange misconception is that it isn't possible
nope.
>>
God creates sin, but no he doesn't (because he is all Good), but yes he does because the law brings sin, but no he doesn't because he does not will sin, but yes he does because he hardens hearts to bring about good, but no he doesn't because people also harden their own hearts because they have free will, but no he doesn't because salvatory grace and good works are willed by God and cannot be acted by man, but no he doesn't because man can will for good in co-working with God, but no he doesn't because all Good comes from God because God is the source of Goodness, but no he doesn't because man has free will, because man has free will, because man has FREE WILL

>JUST AS A FATHER WOULD FORGIVE HIS CHILD AFTER DOING SOMETHING BAD, AND FOR WHICH HE REPENTS.
But God can see into the future and already knows who will repent so why does he get mad in the first place??
>>
>>18527732
Because... He just does, okay?!?

THAT IS NOT HOW THE FUTURE WORKS.

THE FUTURE, WHEN IT COMES TO HUMANS, IS POTENTIALITY, NOT ACTUALITY: VIRTUAL, NOT REAL: TO BE DETERMINED, NOT PREDETERMINED.

GOD KNOWS ALL THE POSSIBLE OUTCOMES OF EVERY DECISION THAT WE MAY MAKE, TO THEIR ULTIMATE CONSEQUENCES; WHATEVER FUTURE BECOMES OUR ACTUAL CIRCUMSTANCE IS CONTINGENT ON OUR DECISIONS; WE HAVE FREE WILL; WE ARE NOT AVTOMATA.

Why is sin so central to judaism and christianity? I have been learning a lot about historical jesus and early christianity. Theology doesnt interest me that much, I dont believe in god. I dont really get the focus on sin and worship. why does the thought of worshipping feel strange to me? I dont want to submit to anyone or anything. I believe I am a somewhat good person, I've never broken the most serious commandments and I never will. didn't they say that jesus was the second adam? the first man adam sinned and so we have all sinned and jesus righted that wrong? that relies completely on adams sin to begin with to give any meaning to jesus. jews created all of that lore, you cant really divorce the jewish lore from jesus.

Why would you need a Saviour if there’s nothing to save (you) from? I can’t tell you if you are a righteous person, but even the Christian Saints see their shortcomings and still a lot of work to be done. See the last moments of Saint Sisoes the Great for example (5th Century).

Sin is missing the mark and transgression of God’s will (As a person)… I assume sin is central because the self-love of humanity is the cause of a great deal of suffering… And death, the chief enemy of man.

Worship could feel unnatural to you because you didn’t grow up around it, or your remote ancestors died with the practice.

Maybe… Christ’s redemptive sacrifice is not automatic, and requires participation from the human will in order to restore the human soul. It may take time too…

Jews today are not the same as Jews yesterday.

who told you that he forgives?

It's clear we are living under nimrod and jehovah the demiurge durr hurr little sins add up.

If we were living under yah or as he is called jove, little things wouldn't matter as much big thing you would have to JUSTLY REPENT(we were defo moved during the tower of babel the whole bible changes after that point).

There's a huge contradiction in all religions because people will refuse to join your religion unless God forgives them for all their sins because people are huge sinners and if they can't be forgiven for being shit people they won't join because most people are shit people, but also, it's not really a religion unless it has laws and tells you how to live ur life, so every religion needs to tell you all these laws about how to live ur life but then it also tells you that god is super forgiving and forgives you for breaking the laws but he also doesn't because we need standards but he also does forgive you because otherwise you won't want to join because it feels pointless to join a religion where you are seen as guilty and not welcome so religion will always FOREVER have a CONTRADICTION of god forgiving everything but also having laws that cannot be broken, this is of course because it's all fake and this contradiction is required to even have a religion that is popular, you could make a religion without this contradiction where God is not forgiving but it would be unpopular because most people wouldn't want to join because they would be regarded as guilty people who cannot be forgiven, so it would feel pointless for them to join, lol.

But that means there is a multiverse of me where in one timeline I repent and get saved and another where I don't and get damned so which one am I???
