>>18529633He didn't hustle
>>18529633in hindsight he should have just executed them all.
>>18529648he tried and failed to execute luther, who managed to escape, and I don't think that was really an option for the other two
Martin Luther never intended to foment rebellion against the Church, he wanted to reform the Church. His complaints were valid, there was wanton corruption in the Catholic Church, and in point of fact, the Church did actually reform itself... but only because the protestant reformation forced them to. If there were no protestant reformation it's unlikely the corrupt clergy of the Catholic Church would have ever reformed.
>>18529691he had the opportunities to kill them all but chose not to because of chivalry, noblesse obliges, or some other cucked bullshit.
He was a kind soul <3

Just because you momentarily have someone in your power doesn't mean you can or should just kill em all for zero consequence and win everythingWhat was he meant to do with francis or the pope?>ok i'll just kill them>>no way next french king won't be even more antagonistic (plus I've already beaten this one and will do it again)>>no way killing the pope could be a bad idea i'm just a catholic ruler in the reformation it's no big deal definitely won't upset any entire classes of people i'm dependent on
>>18529937they deserved it though.
